Recently stumbled upon Haven, a new bar-restaurant-whatever that just opened in Midtown. I work in the area so I find myself going out alot afterwards. They took over from Divine Bar, which was a dump. They obviously spent a fortune remodeling this joint. They have a tiny food menu, but what I did have was really good, fried rare tuna rolls and a great green salad. One complaint, why would they open when they have so much construction left to do? Either way, the bar is beautiful.

So I had my birthday party here after a recommendation from a friend. I reserved the upstairs space and was not disappointed! I had about 100 people show up and everyone had a blast!! The place itself is amazing with 2 floors and nice antique looking furniture. It looked like whoever decorated it took some time and really put some thought into it. The drinks were good and the service was excellent! Apparently they had just undergone some new management change and they are trying to make it a point to make sure all their customers now are being extra taken care of :) I highly recommend this lounge and will definitely be going back on a regular basis!

Fantastic for drinks after work or a relaxed night with friends. It's comfortable and laid back, but a little more luxurious than your average bar. The calamari is great, buttery and served over a layer of some kind of delicious beans surrounded by pesto.

In addition to Haven being BEAUTIFUL and sexy inside... they have a great happy hour! They have regular drink specials but from 5-8:30 they have $13 pitchers of mixed drinks... I think its different ever day! One day it was sangria and the next time I went it was margaritas. There was a great crowd... it was busy but I could still find a seat and the staff was amazingly attentive.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
