growing up in the horseshoe bar when it was vazac's brings back many memories. parents went there when it was a family place. the catering hall upstairs was the best place to run around. al the bartender was a very special person and later became the owner. remember when paul newman made the movie the verdict there. i'm still glad they have the colored window panes in the windows.

Great dive dump for 22s of Natty but huge snausagefest often

Nice place to party (good beers, 22s of Natty light, bartenderesses aren't too gross, sweet metal on the juke box) but ladies in the crowd can be faaarrr and few between. Good place to start bad place to end up.

great music

7B/Horseshoe always has a great selection of music, often more on the heavier side of rock and metal. it's not non-stop metal like Three of Cups Downstairs, but that's a good thing. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends, but everywhere gets crowded. Not the best bar in the area, but you could do a lot worse. A good place to start off a night in Alphabet City.

Great place to just go get a drink.

My friends & I used to go there A LOT when we were students at F.I.T. The trip was totally worth it when we were tired of the noise and big cost of the club scene. I see it at least once a season on Law & Order and I keep promising my husband a trip there next time we go to NYC. The only problem I ever remember there was the lack of seats and bathrooms when students from the...let's just say larger schools...invaded on the weekends.

Best bar in the East Village

You'll be hard-pressed to find a better weekend hangout than 7B. The crowd is a great mix of everyone from rockers to prepsters to a few old timers who have been throwing cold ones back at the bar for decades. And you definitely will not find a better bartender than the lovely young lady who keeps the drinks flowing. Throw in plenty of table space, a few video games, a killer juke box and an old school photo booth, and you've got the makings of a great place to start or finish a night.
