The drinks are delicious and expensive, and the atmosphere is incredible. But the service is particularly awful. They're very pushy and they disappear for extended periods. It's a popular spot, so expect a wait. They aren't into using standing-room, so if there's not a table open, they take your name and hope you wait outside. In comparison to a restaurant of similar cost, appeal, and location, the staff at this bar is so rude it's bizarre. I suggest going during the week rather than during the weekend rush, but the weekday staff has a tendency to ignore you entirely.

We celebrated my birthday at Monkey Town, one of my favorite Billyburg spots for many years. After some transcendental meditation, we made our way to Hotel Delmano. I am a big fan of speakeasies and heard this place qualified. The spot appeared closed as the front gate was up. Deliberate? Some dude dressed in suspenders was hanging out at the side door looking straight out of the 30s. He broke character and immediately accommodated the six of us. The drinks were excellent. The decor was beautiful. The scene was low key. Although I rarely make it out of Manhattan, my next visit to BK will surely include Hotel Delmano.

great selection of all different types of drinks to suit all needs-hipsters and not so hip-but watch out for the hot pipes that they have all over the bar against the walls because they do get very very hot. i burned my hand a few weeks ago by just grazing it and the blister just went away. i may be scarred for life. put some cushion or rope covers on those pipes!!!!!!!!

We finally made our way to Hotel Delmano on a late Saturday afternoon, and although the cocktails were indeed delicious, the staff's attitude was a bit tedious. Everyone always talks about (complains about?) the hipster holier-than-thou attitude that supposedly pervades every establishment in Williamsburg, but despite having visited most of the area's bars and restaurants, we never got a taste of it...until we came to Hotel Delmano. From the minute we inquired about the absinthe fountain sitting on the bar (we had never seen one before!), our server apparently thought we were too ignorant to be bothered with. Maybe he was having a bad day, but considering how hard it is to find a good cocktail in the city, it's unfortunate that it has to come with a side of attitude.
