Snooty Velvet Rope
By hollaback on 5/29/2009
Have fun with pricey drinks and pushy service, IF you can get in. After happy hour, the bouncers at the front door are hatin' on regular folks. So very meatpacking circa three or four years ago. Not worth it at this cab only accessible location during the recession. My regular, employed a** will take my money where they like me.

I've been to Hudson Terrace twice, both times I've had to deal with overly obnoxious door people who on a night when the place was totally empty and the music sucked had the nerve to limit entry (even though a table was already reserved and members of the party inside). This place isnt worth the cab ride.
Past its prime but therein lies its charm

Hot a few years ago, the place is now back to ground level. Enjoy the fabulous decor and great drinks ...and now you can actually get in the place!
Great bartenders and atmosphere
By ccast3 on 6/26/2009
I attended a charity event during happy hour and everything was fantastic. Great atmosphere and outdoor space. The bartenders and staff were super friendly. Not at all pretentious like some of the other high-end venues in NYC. Will definitely be back!
NEVER GO HERE
By amr476 on 7/14/2009
I would highly discourage anyone from going there for the following reasons: The employees were beyond rude. The man who was passing out paper towel outside the bathroom not only yelled into the stall to get my friends and I to move faster, but he went so far as to open the door on my friend. In addition, another friend was robbed in the bathroom. She was having her 21st birthday at Hudson Terrace, had brought a majority of the clientele in for the evening, and she was punched in the face and robbed. The employees consist of some of the most immoral and distasteful people I have ever met. I love living in NY and I have never had an experience as horrible as the one I had at Hudson Terrace. This place should be shut down.
Swanky and worth your time

I was looking for a new happy hour spot and I think I found it. Great drinks and the most attentive bartenders (I think I have a "usual"). It's also great for the summer because of the roof top terrace over looking the Hudson. It is on the upscale side, so don't get angry like the people below when you don't arrive at a hole in the wall and may have to wait outside. (I waited for 5 minutes....not a huge deal)
Worth the trip
By libuddy003 on 7/20/2009
So I was a little hesitant to take the trip over to the Hudson to check this place out, but I'm always up for new adventures. I always hate being in crowded, stuffy bars and this rooftop terrace was a breathe of fresh air (literally) If you need a nice hangout spot for the summer, they have great drinks and an upper class feel. It's something different that NY definitely needed. I'd go during happy hour for their specials, it's a little easier on the wallet, but still worth it I think
worst rooftop bar
By SWT on 8/16/2009
my friends and i came a lil early like around 9, so we were able to get a great seat and the bitchy server didn't even tell us about their 'policy' so we ordered pitchers of margaritas and food while waiting for 3 of our friends, when they came around 10,the people downstairs said they can't up come up because it's bottle service and for reservations only,so they explained that we were there already and they told r friends the that we have to get a bottle service with a minimum of $1000?! (are you kidding me?! they are on the 3rd floor for crying out loud and this in not a high end roof top!) or else our friends can't come up. so we decided to meet our friends on the 2nd floor, finished our pitcher and head out! this is the worst rooftop bar i've ever been to! never coming back here again and never will i recommend this. go to sky terrace, ava lounge or 230 5th where they have better views and better servers!
Who knew work could be so fun!

So my office had a private party here and it was a great choice! The lounge decked out in leather with crystal chandeliers was a nice touch! The drinks were a bit pricey, but I wasn't paying! I'll come back on my own during Happy Hour to check out the everyday scene
Hollywood in NY?
By Marc12 on 8/20/2009
I was visiting from LA and felt like I was right back home when I walked in the door. This has all the glitz and glamor of Hollywood bars and clubs (for better or for worse depending on who you are). I'd say it's definitely worth the experience and you've only got the summer here to enjoy that rooftop so get it while you can. A "must have" in my opinion
