What a great find! Affordable, great ambiance, tasty Italian wines and food. The zucca gratinata was outstanding - had a little kick to it which was delightfully surprising. Would definitely recommend to others.

This is one of my favorite places to enjoy outstanding Italian food and a glass of excellent wine--reasonably priced as well! Also, the restaurant is located in the red-hot Lower East Side.

'inoteca is to wine what Spitzer's (conveniently located opposite) is to beer. For just $19 a friend and I shared a carafe of 2005 Nero D'Avola, a fruity Sicilian red and one of my all-time favourite wines. I regret not ordering food because the extensive list of cheeses on the wall really got my juices going. And whatever they ordered on the next table looked and smelled spectacular. Friendly, funny staff. Perfect for a date perhaps.

The service is patient (esp w having to explain the all-in-Italian menu 80 times/day) and gracious, the food is cheap and satisfying. Nearly all of the panini are good, and believe the hype about the truffle egg toast. I have almost always sat in the wine cellar, which makes for a calming experience - not as much in the noisy street level room.
