hit or miss

Jeremy's is a bit of an oddity. When the crowd is more blue-collar, it's a great spot. When it gets packed with paralegals wearing pointy shoes, it can be downright obnoxious (unless your ideal woman is a recent Yeshiva grad who gets really loud after 2 drinks and is dressed a little too nice for a dive). It is definitely worth checking out, as it can provide some good times, but pick out a backup just in case. Oh, and to the owners: the styrofoam is a nice touch with Coors lights, etc., but it totally destroys the taste of any respectable beer.

I went to South Street Seaport with some friends and struggled to find a cheap place to eat, we stumbled upon this gem and thought it was great. For New York, the prices are really good (Bacon Cheeseburger, cheese fries, and a soft drink for like $8). Some of my friends got seafood, they said it was phenomenal. I stole some of my friend's clam chowder- that was pretty good. Atmosphere is nice, not a real classy place, but if you're in the right crowd you'll like it. Bras on the ceiling, a couple of tvs, cashier service, real informal, but nevertheless clean and enjoyable. Definitely a welcome change from the other places in the area. All in all, it's a good place.

I went here on a quiet Sunday lunchtime so couldn't tell you what it's like when packed, but I had a great time. The place is so interesting to look around. Bras hanging from the ceiling and the ceiling tiles decorated with drinkers' messages. Just a fun place with good beer and friendly staff. Highly recommended...
What a place

From an Englishman in New York's point of view Jeremy's is one of the most remarkable establishments imaginable. At first glimpsh you don't really want to enter, however it gets worst. After taking a beer or two you simply don't want to leave! The mix of social classes makes this watering hole a unique window on New Yorkers. Put it on your list of places to visit above the Statue of Liberty!
Best Fried Clams!

Love the clams, cajun shrimp and onion rings - all made better by a cold beer. You can't go wrong with this place.
Can't beat it!

Can't beat the prices and the ambience. Happy atmosphere. Captivating decor.

Jeremy's has always been known as a great place to meet friends or sit in the corner and drink your troubles away. Their 32oz styrofoam buckets of beer and fried calamari are well know. I also think they have the most underrated burger in the city. It is definitely up there with the usual suspects, Corner Bistro, Burger Joint, J.G Mellons, etc. The well sized patty is completed by a soft sourdough bun and a $6.00 bacon cheesburger, fries included can't be beat.
