After we ordered our cocktails we asked for 2 glasses of water. Instead we were handed 2 glasses of simple syrup. Still didn't even get the water after we handed it back. She laughed and walked away. Says a lot about how much thought management must put into hiring their staff...
Cozy with beautiful views

Maybe I got lucky or maybe it was the fact that it was early (right after work) on a Tuesday but my friend and I went to Jimmy last week and had a great time there. The doorman downstairs was very sweet and the bartender was professional and gracious. We sat at the bar so I don't now how good the other staff is. We did not eat but I really liked their cocktails, especially Grapes of Wrath. They WERE a tad overpriced. It's a relatively small space and it felt comfortable and cozy. The soft panels on the ceiling (?) keep the noise down, so one can talk without screaming, which is a huge plus. The views are great, the lighting is right. I did not pay much attention to the crowd but there was not anyone obnoxious there that night. I'd go back.

Agree with other reviewer re: doorman's attitude. I liked the place though - I like any rooftop bars and had fun here. Drinks were strictly OK. Restroom has glass wall on one side which was interesting :|.
Pretentious and well overrated.

Absolute let down, Jimmy is not worth the journey. Doorman is very unhelpful and extremely rude. As a lover of the NYC rooftop, my friends and I had been looking forward to visiting Jimmy for a while and unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. My advice; go somewhere else. Try Mulberry Lounge.
This place is horrible!

Do not go here. For a rooftop lounge, the view is average at best. The doorman is on a total powertrip (even worse than at other places), especially for what the place is - a mediocre lounge. The drinks are overpriced, service is horrible, and the crowd is subpar. We went there for my sister-in-law's birthday and left because the place had such an unaccomodating, uninviting vibe.Honestly, go to cafe noir across the street. You'll have much more fun, with a better crowd, and spend less money.Avoid this place at all costs. It will ruin your night.
