I've lived in NYC for a long time and never been treated this way by a bar/restaurant. I'd been here once before, had a great time with a group just before Thanksgiving. A couple of us decided to come back for some happy hour and fireplace action on a wintery Friday night. After returning from dinner (otto's tacos--delicious!), my friends and I were enjoying our beers on the stools by the back fireplace for a while, when (approximately 2 hours after we'd sat down) we were informed that we had to move because the area was reserved and the party was asking us to move (3 girls, having a quiet conversation on stools by the fireplace in a corner of the bar). Instead of a) informing us upon our initial arrival that the area had been reserved or b) offering us seats or complimentary drinks at the bar or c) just apologizing for the inconvenience, we were kicked out of our seats and asked to leave. The incredible rudeness by the bartender and manager was shocking. I would never come back here, or it's affiliates (Shoolbred's) again. I strongly encourage you not to go to this bar.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
