Great drinks, not the shhhh, shhhh vibe of M+H but low key at least when I was there. I did want to try a science experiment with the huge chunks of ice to see how much liquid was actually in the glass. I ordered a margarita and I think if I took the giant chunk of ice out it would have been a small drink. My margarita's everywhere else don't get watery somehow. That's my only beef.

If you don't mind the major attitude from the cocktail waitresses, it's a nice place to go. They seem to really not want to be bothered with you. We were a party of 7. Spent quite a bit of money to be treated like we were bothering them to order more drinks. Cocktails were great though.

A friend is moving abroad, so we wanted a quality cocktail night out on Sat., April 4. She was already downstairs, so I told the tall, young doorman I was meeting her. He replied that there was a capacity issue and that I'd have to wait. She then came up and verified I was her date--to no avail. At that moment, 7 people left between us, and he said he'd have to check with management before anyone could enter. He explained he was subbing, as if no one should expect the EMT to perform brain surgery. I asked my friend to get her money back so we could leave. 3 other women on line left, disgusted. Then an Asian woman came up and asked for me by name. I joined my friend to finish up. Tables were full, the bar nearly empty. The place is a spare, dim, colorless room. Drinks were rushed at the bar, as was the waitress. By the time we left, the bar was full (capacity be damned!). Yes, the drinks were tasty, but the incompetent hospitality just makes the place irrelevant, especially at this point in time.

The stuffy-basement thing might be "cozy" in winter, but it was suffocatingly warm when we went recently. Drinks were Milk-and-Honey style nice, but the temperature factor and the attitude were turn offs. MANY more fun places elsewhere...

Went to Little Branch last night after work (7ish on a Tuesday). It was SO weird I couldnt believe it. Customer service at the Little Branch could use a major overhaul. Heres what happened: My friend got a table for 7pm, I ran a bit late from work (7:15) when I arrived at the door there was 1 girl ahead of me, but she didnt want to go into the bar, she was smoking & flirting with the door man. Which is fine, but when I walked up with my ID he YELLED at me to get on line around the corner. Um, there was no line. There was no one. So I went back up to him and told him my friend was inside and waiting, and I felt bad that I was late. He rolls his eyes and says "Ugh. Well you cant go in unless your 'friend' has a table" I replied "yes he has a table. i dont understand" so he rolls his eyes again and goes inside. He comes back out and says "yeah youre right youre friend has a table. But he has manners, hes not a bitch like you" HE CALLED ME A BITCH. Who does that? That was so nasty. I didnt know what to so I sort of laughed it off and went inside. The host gave me the SAME problem. "you cant come in unless you have a table. Who let you in?" and blocked me from walking in with his body. I said "my friend is at that table right behind you, can I please go to him?" and FINALLY I got to sit down. That Said: our waiter was awesome. He was super friendly and helped me pick a really great drink. But the way the door man and the host spoke to me are completely unacceptable.

I have visited Little Branch for cocktails many times and have enjoyed it so much so that I decided to bring a group of girlfriends visiting from LA recently. It was such a rude experience from the door man to the manager that I will NEVER go back there again.

I live around the corner from LB so I was excited when it opened. It's a great space and helps fill the void in hipster night spots in the West Village. Too bad I'll never go again. The drinks are absolutely tiny and extremely expensive. If you lift the enormous ice chunk from the drink you'll be left with a few teaspoons of booze -- at $12 you should be getting a nice, hearty drink instead of a few tepid ounces. Seriously, why is it that the richer the place the stingier the drinks? This bar has it all, except that the drinks and attitude suck, so there's no point in ever going again. It's truly not a hipster hangout when everything is so cheap and alternately, expensive. I prefer West on West 11th and the West Side Highway. Drinks are also a bit puny, but prices are better and there's zero attitude.
