One of the best cocktail experiences you'll have in Manhattan
By cthom526 on 1/16/2011
We stopped in just as they opened the door at 7PM on a Saturday night. We got a great booth in the very back and were waited on by a great and very nice waitress named Lucinda. We had some questions about the drinks and she sat down next to us and explained them all. Such nice service. The drinks were excellent as was the atmosphere. There were only candles lighting the space and the great jazz playing at low volume added a nice touch. A very special evening and I can't wait to come back with more friends. Visit this place for a memorable experience.

I went there with no expectations and was blown away. I loved that it was tucked away and not too many people knew about it. It is a hidden gem. The cocktail menu may look small but dont worry, if you dont see something that interests you...just ask your waitress and she knows so many more. All I had to do was tell her "my spirit of choice" and then she made her reccomendation. Each cocktail was more uniqure and delicious than the rest. I would definitely recommend this bar!
Best cocktails in Manhattan.

Knocked on the door at 11:30pm. A very polite doorman opened the door and led my guest and I downstairs. Great place, nice atmosphere for a professional drinker. It was quite full in a good way; not too crowded, not too sparse. I told the bartender that it was my birthday and we were recommended to drop by. The bartender down the street told us to expect beautifully boozy and properly handcrafted libations of a high order. This is exactly what we got! Not only that but the apparently rude "half Asian girl" also mixed a few drinks for us, and what do ya know --not only was she incredibly friendly (and beautiful) but also very professional and quite the mixer in her own right. Bottom line: the drinks were absolutely top notch and the staff were beyond gracious and professional. I've been in this business long enough to know that "the one simple truth" is this; when customers bitch, nine times out of ten it's because they *are* bitches! ;) Do yourself a favour and get yourself drink at Little Branch. If you're denied entry, treated badly, ignored or removed.. you might be time to ask yourself a few questions.

Amazing place if you like the perfect cocktail. Everyone from Bouncer to bartender are pros and are cordial. Drinks are amazing. Worth every penny and more. JD.
Best drink in New York? Still researching that. But, gosh darn delicious.

My wife, our friend, and I were met at the front door by a very short queue. Soon after we arrived, the polite gentleman on guard found himself fending off the schmoozy assault of an overly self important woman who couldnt wrap her mind around the concept of first come first serve. I was blissfully content witnessing her pleading knowing that, when she offered up her acquaintance with the other doorman and that he was an owner of the establishment, she was, in fact, speaking to THE owner and her attempt at social subterfuge would be met with a firm yet civilized rejection. If you are the type that favors quantity over quality, Little Branch is not for you. If you want to watch the game, Little Branch is not for you. If you dont understand the simple physics of one large chunk of ice being better that a bunch of small ones, Little Branch is not for you. Only come here if you and your friends want to enjoy incredible drinks mixed by master artisans.

Great drinks- great atmosphere! Arrived here on a Friday night with a few friends and got a table near the band. Very intimate place and romantic dim lighting. My only complaint would be the music was a little loud and we had to shout a bit...
For the true mixology enthusiast
By Veammn on 7/12/2009
Anyone complaining about the large blocks of ice in thier drinks is completely missing the point of this bar. This is not a place to get drunk. This is a place to enjoy well-crafted, artisanal cocktails made by bartenders who have truly mastered the art of mixology. The short wait to get inside is completely worth it (I went on a Saturday night and waited for only 5 minutes). The bar is never too crowded, no loud music plays over your conversation, and the staff is as polite as can be. This bar exists for its cocktails, and each is made to perfection. I began with a Dark and Stormy and instantly fell in love. I decided to see what else these masters could whip up. I ordered a Sazerac, a Sidecar, a Ramos Fizz (it was the single best Ramos Fizz I've had in my life). I apologized to the waitress for ordering so many drinks that weren't on the menu. Her response: "Oh, that's what we do here! The menu is merely suggestions." The only drawback is their cash only policy. I recommend this bar to anyone looking for a well-made cocktail.
Comfortable locale, great for a double-date
By mrhipster on 10/8/2007
Drinks are well put together, especially when there is a variety of liquors. Not ideal for large groups - yet double dates work well with just enough room and noise level for a group conversation. Prices are very reasonable and quality of servers ranges from decent to spectacular.
favorite little spot

Little Branch is, for this humble patron, my favorite bar in Manhattan. I seriously do not mind paying $12 for drinks that are made with real juice, spices, and quality liquor. I LIKE the giant icecubes that don't melt and turn your drink into dirty water; and since it's not the kind of place you'd go to get trashed, I don't mind that the drinks aren't gigantic. Personally, I've always had a really nice, if sometimes quirky, waiter. I recommend taking a bartender's choice...they're always classy and tasty, and it's a fun surprise. They play beautiful old jazz recordings...not your average picks...and the live musicians that play later in the evening have been pretty good in my experience. This is not a place to go and get ripped and/or to pick up a one-night stand. This is a great place to have a long conversation where you don't have to scream, and it's definitely an amazing place for a romantic date.
