I miss Market Hotel

I miss everything about Market, most of all the community bred by it. It wasn't just a concert venue (or "venue," in this case), it was a place to come find your friends and make new ones, all while inexpensively seeing the most original, quality bands and visual art in all of NYC. Luckily, Market Hotel proprietor Todd Patrick, aka Todd P, started a new initiative since the recent police shutdown of the never-quite-legal shows. It's called The Market Hotel Project and pushes to make the space completely legal, in a new incarnation as a community center. In a sense, this is what it always was anyway. I'll always miss Market as it was, but I have every confidence that it will rise again, different but better than ever.
