From just hanging out with your good friends, to seeing celebrities bump into you, this nightclub is one of the best hott spots in NYC to be.

I had come down to NYC for some down time, after all my thinking and alone time done, I was ready to see what the big apple had to offer! I think the beauty for me with Marquee lay in the fact that I wasn't tainted with any premonition (didn't know anything about it till I was at the doorstep) quite contrary to some of the other reviews, I was treated with the utmost courtesy, despite 'an accent and being foreign' for me when the doors opened it was like walking into an intriguing, evocative and entrancing land of clubbing with sophistication and finesse! I am quite a party person and being in London do party A LOT! So far though, nothing has beat the extaordinary experience of the live drummer on the Brazilian samba like drums amongst dancers on the dance floor, while different contemporary club music blended in the background and complimented the drum beats!!!! You can't make a place pretentious if you are not prententious already-in other words its not the place that's pretentious. Marquee is definitely a MUST DO when in New York!
Best Time in New York

Marquee was by far the highlight of the three clubs we partied in this past weekend (Lotus and Level V were the other two.) The music was thumping, the people were beautiful and being two attractive girls, we breezed through the ropes. If you go VIP the bottle service will run you about $400, but it is worth the expense to have your own area. I cannot wait to go back.

Real New Yorkers, the powerful and connected, simply do not patronize Marquee. Why? Because at the end of the day and despite all the hype, Marquee is simply a club and not a very good one at that. Those seeking to find quintessential club life in New York would be far better off patronizing some of the other venues in the vicinity of Marquee such as STEREO, RETOX, STUDIO MEZMOR, ARENA, THE PLUMM etc. Why? Because they do not pretend to be something that they are not. Beyond the glitz and psuedo exclusivity of Marquee is a vapid facade and an organization which believes that as a patron clubgoer you need to be insulted before being provided with the privilege of access, in order to appreciate their sparse offerings relative to other more modern hip venues with a more diverse crowd. Marquee insults your intelligence by selling a false notion of status rather than amenities which you can only appreciate if you have no self esteem. Inside you will find a soul less vibe of insecure social wannabe's & the rudest doorstaff, both in NYC & the Hamptons (at DUNE) period. Yes, I have been inside both joints.
nice club, terrible clientele

We went to Marquee on a trip to NYC and got in without any problems, even dressed in Target jeans and plain black tops. The interior is VERY nice, very stylish and modern. Music is ok (we went on a Saturday). But - ohmygod - the people! Never have I been to a place that has as many stuck-up people in it all at once. Nobody smiles, everyone apparently thinks they're the next supermodel (not to mention that I didn't see any hot guys). What a joke! These model wannabe girls came in and climbed over the couches (instead of walking 3 feet around them to sit down), and then the one chick proceeded to literally SIT ON my friend's drink (she had posed it on the back of the couch). Inconsiderate, stuck-up, anorexic looking, and without any manners! We left after 2 hours, it was just no fun. Go here if you want to see a modern club interior, NOT for the people!
Worth the experience

This place is really cool. I was fortunate enough to go with a friend who knew the promoters there so I skipped the line and didn't have to pay. We also got free bottle service so I guess the night is always better when everything is free. I know what everyone means about the guys at the door being really rude and arrogant. But if you can get in it's really worth it. The house music is really good because you can sing along to some of the songs. If you also want to be surrounded by beautiful people and feel like you're on another planet because everyone looks so perfect, Marquee is the place to be. I highly recommend it, especially for a foreigner like myself. Even just to go there once and experience it. If you don't like it you don't have to go back. The hard part is trying to get in though. So if you can get past the door you're guaranteed to have a good night.

This place is SO over!! Marquee has only reinforced the idea that the life of a new york city club is as fleeting as an Hermes sale. The crowd there has now turned incredibly unattractive - the men are short, ugly, over 40, And the women have put on some serious weight since the place opened and seem to have forgotten to visit their hairstylist and need a lesson in Fashion. The staff there still seem to think the place is as hot as when it opened and have ridiculous attitude. There is absolutely nothing special there - the dance floor is tiny, the music sucks, the staff and management are atrocious, and the crowd is a bunch of old Men and Women. Save your time and money and go down the street to a place like home where at least they appreciate your patronage and show it! A much better crowd there (or anywhere else) as well! Or hop in a plane to LA where you can find a real club with great music, hot men and Women and perfect weather.
Not dead yet

Word is that Marquee is not the place it used to be. Though it's undoubtely not the hippest club in NY anymore, Marquee is still a good spot. Huge space with 2 floors (though the dancefloor is actually not big) and another room, RnB commercial music, regularly some big nights that attract a nice crowd. And people seem to have fun.

was in Chelsea to check out Mansion (first time in that hood since 2006) and was dragged over to Marquee around 2am... Though the doorman was giving shit to most of the people still outside he let me and my 2 girlfriends right in. Place was packed and the crowd was surprisingly decent- lots of cute Euro guys spending $$ tourists and not a single guido in sight (well maybe a few...). Danced till 4am and didn't spend a dollar. sick night overall!
