Simply an awesome bar. Just beware that it's not open during your afternoon summer stroll through the city - doesn't open until about 5/5:30 p.m. most nights. It's a great venue with a stellar view of the Empire State Building. The drink prices hover around $5-7 for a beer and $8-12 for a cocktail, and it's completely worth every penny. Ambiance is amazing even in the fall/spring when they bring out the massive propane warmers, and people tend to be really friendly and talk between tables every so often (somewhat unusual for NY). And don't worry - it's not all hotel guests...in fact most are NOT hotel guests, just fun-loving folks in the good ol' NYC! Oh, and in relation to other bars in NYC, if it's a nice warm night or if you're looking to curl up with a significant other outside under a heater and the changing lights atop Empire, nothing beats it.

My daughter and I were there when a tornado came through in July 2010 - fantastic night. Everyone outside, then the rains came and we all had to move inside! Massive storm rain, thunder and lightning swirling around the Empire State. Finally it eased up and everyone went back outside after the waiters had tipped all the water out of the awnings... What a fun night! One of our best NY memories! And the margarita's were amazing!!!

I was surfing the web looking for something new. I have lived in New York my whole life and I am getting tired of being seen at the quote “Hot new spot” that changes almost daily. If you’re looking for a place that you can just blend in and relax with someone special or a group of friends, than this is it. The drinks are priced right and come with a smile. No matter how busy the place appeared to get the bar tender still had time to engage in basic conversation and most of all remembered what I was drinking. They do not serve food but, they have a book of menus that you can order from. When you think it could not get any more relaxing, the sun sets, and the Empire State Building puts on it’s formal wear. You are so close you could almost touch it. ENJOY !!

This place is awesome...I'll admit it, I'm part of the "newbie" crowd - but I'm proud of it! I love coming to this place just to relax, and the music selection is just right. Drinks are reasonably priced and the bartender definitely knows what he's doing.
