I was walking around Tribeca one afternoon and happened upon this small neighborhood pub and decided to check it out. It has one deck table overlooking the sidewalk and a bird's eye view of the park across the street from a bar stool. The regulars range from artists to businessmen, cops and firefighters depending on the time of day or night. Melissa, the day bartender is great and really knows her stuff. The place is casual and friendly and there's serious shuffleboard mania. The food is non-fancy standard old school pub grub. Don't expect chocolate martinis but yes, there's Blue Moon. And, Melissa might make you a Sex-on-the-Beach if you ask her nicely. I love this place.

The Nancy Whiskey is a fun bar with the greatest bartender! Gets pretty packed later at night, gets to be standing room only, but it's the best. I always take people who are new to the city there...and "natives" who've never heard of it!

I live in the South, raised in the Northeast. I had two hours to kill on a business trip and "happened" on Mary Gallagher, the "bartender" at Nancy Whiskey Pub. Greatest two hours in a bar for a hamburger and a cool one (2?). I enjoyed a wonderful time with the great people of New York City. The Irish Colleen, Mary Gallagher, and her fabulous "regulars". My father, Mickey McMahon, took me to the bars on Friay nights when I was a little girl. Brought back many, memories of the good old days. (NOTHING compares in TEXAS!) Wish I could have shared this moment with my father. Hospitality personified! Authentic NY Irish Bar like no other! xxoo
