To be completely honest, I almost didn't end up going to this bar after reading a couple of the non-flattering comments that were posted, but I'm glad I didn't listen. For example, they DO have happy hour and missed the "bunch of transplanted midwestern ibankers with no sense of NYC (BenYankee)." Huh?? I think the name "BenYankee" explains itself... This place is an excellent bar for drinks with friends and if you want to catch a game, even better. I've never been over the weekend but for a great spot to get quality drinks and hangout with friends, there aren't many too many that beat it - especially in the area. Lastly, they don't have a kitchen but the bartender makes delicious chocolate chip cookies. Definitely worth trying, -Ryan

Wound up here for ten minutes on a Saturday night recently and this placed sucked. The bartenders weren't paying attention to anyone, and the crowd was terrible. It was a bunch of transplanted midwestern ibankers with no sense of NYC. Whoever said this was a dive bar is seriously mistaken.

Still trying to figure out the "dive" aspect; usually, it constitutes a quirky decor and/or cheap drinks. No Idea lacks both. There's nothing distinguishing or interesting about the place's look (though the back room was nice for a large group), and the drinks aren't particularly inexpensive. Plus, there's no happy hour, despite a location surrounded by businesses; perhaps that's why the place was nearly empty when visited after work. That, or the utter lack of attention from the bartender, who was rather uninterested in anything but the lonely fellow at the end of the bar. Maybe he enjoyed himself...

The photo , of a four year old girl downing a bottle of beer , on the No Idea website should give you a good idea of the class of people at the aptly named "No Idea" . This bar is as suggested, a dive bar . Dirty , unexceptional in any way , and boring , like the shot and beer bars that are frequented by old men clinging to the past . But this one which sits amongst many upscale bars , makes it's way by serving cheap basic drinks to a young ,unsophisticated crowd who can't manage to get by the proof checkers at the better places . Ask for a popular mixed drink such as a mojito or chocolet martinti and you'll get a dirty look ( and a big price) from the bartenders who are of the "Moonlighting-from-my-day-job" variety . If you are over 21 and have career and personality ,pass this by . There's Flute a few doors down . Chango and Justins and Pipa and ...
