Had to choose a spot for a fairly large group to meet and let's just say, it's never easy to make the right choice, especially on a Saturday. The reviews here helped me make the decision (minus the "Ugly Bettie" comment - have no idea how this person could have called this lovely, unassuming and fun place "pretentious"). It was a blast: great crowd, inventive, refreshing cocktails, the bartender was knowledgeable and sweet, the decor was sexy, and the music: fun 80s. Small bar, no doubt, but if you get there early enough (8ish), you may be able to nab the front table which fits 6-8 v. comfortably. My only suggestion to the bar is to lower the music just a *bit. On a scale of 10, we're talking at least an 8. Bring it down to a 7 and we'll avoid the ears ringing and hoarse throats from yelling/chatting w/friends. Overall, though, highly recommended! GTs.

Had a really great time here one afternoon. Great martini's and a really friendly bar tender! Loved the decor and even came back that weekend to show my friends!

If the back room is closed, visit Nurse Bettie instead. Fabulous decor, great service and fun range of drinks/beers.

This warm, intimate space with bartenders who bother to learn your name has been my local since it opened. It's so great to be in a bar where the music isn't overpowering your conversation, where the atmosphere is casual, and where people enjoy hanging out with their friends, instead of trying to see and be seen. I hesitated to write a review because I don't want it to get too crowded, but I was absolutely shocked by the negative review from one user, and just couldn't let that stand on its own.

In a word, pretentious. A decidedly uncool, Wanna-be hipster meets Upper East Side Frat boy scene. Bondage and pin-up girl theme is provincial and tired rather than cheeky.
