I haven't been to R-bar in a while, but was glad to see that all the positives are still there! The staff is a bit different but still great & the crowd is still nice & diverse. They got rid of the karaoke ( thank god! ) as well as some of the other themed nights. I had heard they wanted to bring back the 'boys' night which was a nice twist for the adventurous for all sorts of reasons! I'm glad my local is still cool & unpretentious!

If you are looking for a good time, great people and a large variety of drinks, then get your ass to R BAR!!! This is the Brooklyn version of cheers where everybody will learn your name and you will be welcomed there always. From the owners who are simply the best, the bartenders who treat you right and the regulars who will bring a smile to your face, this is what a bar is supposed to be! Even if you disappear for a while ( like I did) all you need to do is walk in(any day or night) and you will be welcomed with open arms. When its time to go, you will leave with the memory(unless you have to many of there great drinks) of a good time. This is a Brooklyn bar to go to.

As the neighborhood is changing, actual born and bred Greenpointers/Williamsburgers are feeling lost - RBAR brings them home. A place to drink and hang out and feel comfortable. No clickiness - just nice, friendly folks. Bartenders are attentive & funny and the owners Greg & Debbie make you feel welcome. You can shoot a game of pool or some darts or play a board game or play a melee of diff video games or watch the game on their big screen tv or just sit down, drink & have some interesting conversations. Thanks, RBAR, for making us feel like we're home.

There is a God. Finally a bar in Williamsburg that doesn't make me feel like I'm at a Beck cloning lab. No need for an asymmetrical hair cut or a "too cool for the room" attitude to enjoy this Brooklyn standard bearer. The beer is ice cold, the jukebox is diverse and the atmosphere is welcoming. Do yourself a favor and get into a conversation with Greg the home grown mixologist. He'll entertain you with his vast array of area knowledge. Whether to catch a game, shoot some pool or just have a "ball", this is your place.....

The first time I went to the R Bar, I walked in and loved the place, and I have been going ever since. All of the bartenders, Mike, Christen, Greg, Carter and all the guest bartenders are just wonderful. The drinks are made to perfection, and the bar is fully stocked with everything you might want. The decor is warm and colorful with local artists displaying there work. And there's always something fun going on, Karaoke, pool, darts and Softball!

I've been to R bar a few times and the place is a blast!!! Cold beer, hot women(or men,for those of you who like that sort of thing),and a juke box that has everything from Sinatra to Slayer.Wether you like shooting some darts or shooting some deer on the Big Buck Hunter you can, because R Bar is the only bar in the area with both games. Like I always tell people: "Stop on by and check it out...if you love it...you'll never want to leave...if you hate it...then you're an idiot and you dont belong there anyway".

Close to home, and they make it feel like home. Its great bringing people to a spot where you walk in and you give a pound to the bartender, whether its Mike or Kristen, or Greg the owner. Everybody knows everybody. Wednesday Karaoke is the best. Get a few in you and belt out your favorite song. Its all laughs n' fun, for us local guys that lived in the neighborhood forever, or new blood just movin' into the neighborhood. You go and you'll understand why everybody from Greenpoint n Williamsburg floats to R-Bar a good three times a week or more. And Greg's hot wings are the best! He makes 'em himself ya' know!

I remember when the place was hopping, but the sparkle of this average Williamsburg/Greenpoint bar wears off quick. The mixed drink/shot prices flux on the mood of the bartender from high to worse. And the owner tries to please the trend setters while throwing pompus cockyness where it really doesnt belong. Okay bar definately not a regularly watering hole. :(
