I went to rare view rooftop and talked to PATRICK who quote a minimum consumption my group needed to reach to make a reservation. He said I should quote him for that price and that it should be fine. Following day I called and nobody picked up. I sent 4 emais, left 3 messages for CRISTINE and after all that JIM (Cristine's assistant) called and said he would get back to me again. He didn't. I called again later to find out through JIM that they were not only not honoring their word but asking my party pay 5 TIMES AS MUCH as PATRICK had told me. Basically, when they saw I was interested in making a reservation, they raised the price. They lied to my face and they made me waste my time. They said that they cannot respond for what their people say or promise, SO IF YOU TALK TO PATRICK DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING HE SAYS. SAME WITH JIM AND CRISTINE. People like that should not be doing business in New York.

I hit rare view for the first time this summer, and the name of the bar doesn't dissapoint. The view is simply outstanding, especially during the sunset. The selection at the bar was somewhat limited, and severely overpriced. It's definitely worth a stop, to have a couple of drinks and enjoy the view

Hit Rare for the first time this past week and am glad I found it. Incredible views of the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings. Service was good and I really enjoyed that they sell cigars there. Definitely will be back.

It is a nice place to admire the skyline, the sunset, the city lights etc. You can sit at a table or lay down on a sofa. The service though is lousy. They serve drinks in plastic cups (margarita tastes great, but when it comes in disposable cups is losing all the charm),the toilets are filthy and you have to wait in a looooooong line downstairs to get in (2 out of 3 times I've been waiting over 30 min to get in). Overall is a good place to hang around with your friends or to start a nigh out. Not a good spot for a first date.

Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
