Every time I was dragged into this bar, there is always some dubious people standing outside, I personally have seen 2 fights. I will NEVER come to this place by choice.

Not being a NYC native, I made reservations with Sarah Ann all by email. Sarah Ann was really helpful and organised everything for me, even though I had no budget upfront. We arrived on the night of the party to find our booth by the bar all ready for us, no queue, no cover, no bottle service. We had a really sweet waitress who looked after us all night, bringing us every drink we wanted to the table. We chose to pay as we ordered, but we also had the option to have a tab. We had brought cupcakes for the birthday girl, and our waitress took them out back to hide them and then brought them out later with a candle and started the whole bar singing "Happy Birthday"! Later, we moved upstairs where we discovered a little dancefloor and a really cool DJ. We all had a dance and the DJ, Wikid Wayne, played all our requests and made our night! I would definitely recommend Red Sky - it was just a really fun bar, with good cheesy tunes, a great atmosphere and a nice mix of people.

Yesterday was the nicest day of the season so far, so I trusted New York Magazine's description of Red Sky Bar & Lounge deeming it as a "tri-level mega-lounge" and its roof deck as an "outdoor oasis." On a Saturday night, I walked in spotting not one patron on the main level, only a bartender and waitress. I proceeded up the stairs and the second level was even more silent. So far, I was not impressed with the tacky nautical theme including miniature sail boats and fish tanks. I finally reached the third floor roof deck to find five bridge and tunnelers sipping on Coors Light complementing the fabulous view. The roof deck, more narrow than my studio apartment, was sandwiched between three buildings and the only view was overlooking E. 29th St. onto a construction site. If you enjoy sipping your cocktails while in constant fear of a crane collapsing on top of you, then Red Sky Bar & Lounge is the place for you.

We had a private party on the second floor & roof deck arranged by Marni. she was very helpful & accomodating from the start up until the day of. The bartenders & waitresses were GREAT. I was very happy with our choice to have the party here & would highly recommend Red Sky. We went to the bar on other occasions to check it out after we booked, and on a regular night I think the place is great as well. Not too old, not too younge, not too trendy, just REGULAR. Maybe if people arent paying for a FULL PRIVATE PARTY they will not get the service that we got. But we definitely got everything we were told and more.....
