I live in the neighborhood and have been going to Rodeo Bar for the past 10 yrs! It is the best place around here to grab a bite and have a couple of drinks without breaking the bank. I love the staff. If you frequent the place, they'll have you're drink waiting for you when you walk in! My favorite food at Rodeo is the triple combo fajitas; shrimp, chicken and sirloin!! Delicious! The bartenders also know how to make the best patron margaritas in town!

It's dirty and one of the few places you can see good, live country/blue grass/blues/jazz in the city...wouldn't recommend the food exactly (it's eh - not bad) but the drinks are fine and the free peanuts are AWESOME.

You walk into this sawdust joint and it looks like one third Curly McPossom's Medicine Snake Oil show, one third Lousiana juke joint, and one third CBGBs-like they all got together in NYC and didn't know what to do with themselves so they opened one of the greatest bars in the city. There's a buffalo mounted above the bar, a horse trailer serving as bar and peanut shells all over the floor. But where at the carnival you get funnel cake and cotton candy, here you get excellent Tex- Mex fare and dry rub Texas BBQ for extremely reasonable prices (especially in Manhattan) And no review of this place would be complete without mentioning their legendary Margaritas -so lethal and served up in a pint glass, it's almost as though the bartender's playing truth or dare with you. All of this plays out with some of NYC's finest country and roots rock bands playing in the background -and there's never a cover at the Rodeo Bar. Go for brunch, go for happy hour, go for the band, doesn't matter when you go, 'cause you'll always be satisfied here.
