If you want to be harassed, and have your rights violated then by all means go! My friends and I were there 20 min when the bouncer came up to me to inform me that "You need to be buying and drinking alcohol because this is a bar and water ainÂ’t gonna fly so if your not drinking then you need to BOUNCE!" He repeated his threats to my girlfriend who was10 ft away. All our friends had drinks; we chose not to drink because we were both fighting a cold. This was a joint effort btw the bartender, the desperate cocktail waitress, and the roid infused bouncer! All that muscle and no brains? Damn shame, a mind is really a terrible thing to waste (that is if you have one!). To harass woman who did nothing wrong except be responsible and try to be healthy while enjoying the company of friends. For what? A couple bucks in tips? Come on! I know it's a recession and all, but 2 bucks is really worth violating someone's civil liberties these days?

I went to Rusty Knot to try a new bar out since Slims sucks lately but my friend warned me that after she left the other day they charged her like $30 on her card (her tab was $10.) So the next day I checked my bank account and sure enough they charged me $40 over my bill. I signed my receipt and it was right so why am I being charged $54!? (I did NOT drink $54 worth of beer!) Apparently they do this a lot. WATCH OUT!

I've been to the KNOT twice recently- once for a Birthday party on a Saturday afternoon and then again after work on a tuesday- both were great. It was a perfect place for a low key birthday party. They have both great tiki drinks and cheap beer so everyone was happy. The sunset was beautiful too. When I went back a week later it was freezing outside, the bartender recommended a hot rum grog which was delicious. There was a nice crowd, busy but not overcrowded.

I was very interested in trying out the bar but this place is not as unique as I hoped for, certainly not a old harbor bar feel where surly fishermen could frequent, not sure if that was the purpose but the look they created makes me think so. Genuine Kitsch is a tricky thing and well they do their best to lay it on in a meaningful way but it comes off as a very artificial feel. The crowd was even more artificial, the boring lot of suits who order 18 yr Macallan on the rocks and the husband hunting women whose hand bags take up too much of the tightly fit bar. As my friend mentioned this place should be in vegas not nyc. The good thing is the drinks are fun and very reasonably priced, the food is good as well but the most impressive aspect was the juke box, a stellar collection of 70Â’s Americana, Folk and Classic rock. If the meatpacking is your scene then the Rusy Knot is a perfect fit, if you canÂ’t stand that crowd, like I, then donÂ’t waste your time.

This is a great little neighborhood joint. Definitely worth stopping by. Fun jukebox, laid-back crowd (although an interesting mix) and strong drinks. Might I suggest either the Zombie if you're looking to get the job done quickly or a Dark & Stormy if you want to get the job done quickly but don't want to know it. Either is great.

A bar nearly curated within an inch of its life, every quasi-rough or winkingly tacky element carefully detailed, down to the fish in the aquarium. Delicious meat pies, down-to-earth bartenders, and thankfully cheap beer encourage you to let your guard down. But sometimes a strange crowd (preeners and loudmouthed suits) and the awkward seating by the windows (wedging yourself sideways to try to talk) make you roll your eyes and head out in a hurry.
