Once upon a time, I used to go here a lot. The other night I decided to stop in with some friends, and was shocked at the change. The place looked the same, but it just felt kind of creepy. I even talked to one of the waitresses about it and she said she was looking for another job. It's too bad--this place used to be fun.

Old, spooky, hotel that manages to be comfortable and relaxed. Get there early for a red velvet couch. Avoid the Friday happy hour crowd and go when empty. They actually food serve food at tables, but this place is best enjoyed simply with a glass of wine or a martini. Worth stopping by at least once if you live in the area.

I recently went to Serena's for a friend's birthday party. We reserved a room for the night. After 2 hours we were told we had to leave the room because another party was reserved in our room. No one had told my friend that. When we were in the room we were assigned a waitress and we could only order drinks through her. If you went to the bar to get a drink by yourself she followed you and reprimanded you for not ordering through her. When you did order a drink through her she waited next to you for a tip. And if you did not give her one she actually sang a little tip song with an accompanying dance "Nothing for me, nothing for me..". The security staff really loves the whole behind the red rope mentality. Do yourself a favor don't get sucked into the Serena illusion of a great service, good music, and great time with friends. Because it is just an illusion.

Me and my friends can't stay away from Serena's. We always end up coming here and have a blast any day of the week . The crowd is hip and stylish but never pretentious. The staff is always so gracious and prompt with the drinks - very important!! Their drink menu is delicious as well as all of the apps. On Friday's and Saturday's it's a good idea to make a reservation and get one of the coveted couches.

The barstools feel comfortable for 15 seconds. The decor assaults my eyeballs. The music is too loud or not loud enough or not right. Then how come I always have so much fun here, and how come I can never leave when I want to? People, I guess. Fun crowd, fun staff, big hangover.
