Cool for chill weekdays or super fun weekend parties
By AshleyHud80 on 6/1/2009
I chose Stanton Public for my bday a few Friday nights past based on reviews I read. It was a great choice because I had an awesome night (can't remember some of it) & the music was awesome & I got to drink for free all night! We started off the evening in the outdoor "beer garden" that is cozy and comfortable on cool summer evenings, but by 11 pm it was PACKED! So I decided to move the party downstairs. We turned it into our own VIP section :-) Even though I didn't have to pay for drinks that night, my friends told me that drink prices were reasonable. Also, between the main bar area, garden, and downstairs, no one was bored. I would highly recommend Stanton Public for a chill weekday night out, or a weekend party but be warned (some of my friends couldn't get in) they don't take reservations but it seemed like the door guy just wasn't letting anyone in if they were wearing collared shirts boo for that point but I can't deny, I had a blast!
Chill and fabulous at the same time

My rating has just as much to do with the amount of fun I had here as it does with the actual merits of the bar. I had a big group here for my birthday on Friday night. There was great music, it wasn't too terribly crowded, had a cool atmosphere without being too "scene," was casual without being generic. Overall a very chill, crowd-pleasing place. I can't speak personally on the service since i wasn't buying drinks, but I was disappointed when we relocated to a semi-private seating room downstairs and no one came down to take orders (there was a sign indicating that they would do so). So my friends had to annoyingly make trips back upstairs anytime they wanted a drink. Other than that-- fabulous!
Nice & interesting crowd & staff

This is a great bar with an interesting crowd as the night goes on. Prior to going to Freeman's we stopped in to get a drink and loved the choices of beers that they offered. In addition, I loved that they had interesting beers that were almost like a cocktail (there was a guiness/blue moon mixture - who would have thought of that mix up). Coming back after our dinner, what was a nice bar turned into more of a lounge that had great music and of course the drinks were still really great. We had a chance to talk to one of the managers and to learn more about it. It's definitely a great place to go to begin or end the night and they have a lot of specials (I love that the menus are written on large boards that are throughout the space). This is definitely a great place to go.
A lot of fun!

This bar was a lot of fun! I went last weekend with some friends for my birthday and it was the perfect spot to just hang out, have a few drinks and socialize. Their deal on bringing 10 or more friends and drinking for free on your birthday was totally worth it. The DJ played some fun music that wasn't too loud to have a conversation. The bartenders were friendly. The main room was small but never felt too crowded to move around. Their backyard area was really nice with the good weather. The only problem I had was that threre were only two bathrooms and the wait could be a little long, but tolerable. Overall I had a great time there and I can't wait to go back to try more of their extensive beer list.

Stanton Public has some of the friendliest bartenders I've ever encountered. The entrance leads you to the bar where most of the action happens. Seats line the wall, but allow for pretty good standing room. Downstairs, there are a ton of couches and tables, but on the night I went, nobody was really there. I am slowly realizing I can't really justify the rating, but I had such fun here I could only give it an 8.

We tried to go last night and they were remodeling so the outside space and the downstairs was closed.
