Ill start off by saying the Stoned Rose is one of my favorite places. Ive been there about 5 or 6 times and the service is mixed at best. Half of those times, there is never anyone at the front to greet you. Its as if the greeter is cleaning tables between greeting. Also, once you're in side, you need to order your 2nd drink at the point you are half way through your first drink becuase it takes a while to flag one of the waitresses and some time before they return. Again, I experienced this more than half the times Ive been here. Overall, a nice place to go to once or twice but the service would be a problem to come here as a regular.

Stone Rose is billed as an upscale bar/lounge in the Time Warner Center, worthy neighbor to the restaurants Porter House, MASSA and Per Se. The decor is modern art deco and very spacious. The music on Saturday night is a fun blend of older top 40 music. The drinks are a bit outrageously priced and I couldn't take in the view at night. But the main problem is that it is not a relaxing place to have a drink. All the seating appear to be reserved and yet empty at 11p on a Saturday night. Stone Rose gives the cold shoulder.

While the view is stunning and the food and drink are certainly decent, the prices are not and the service is practically nonexistent. My date and I stood by the door for close to ten minutes before anyone even noticed we were standing there, and even after we were seated, service was spotty at best--not to mention the fact that the prices did seem a little high. There are better options out there.

This place just cracks me up! At first glance, it is so chi-chi wannabe a scene but give it a chance, I actually have fun there. The waitresses are a bit over the top, they prance around in teeny little black dresses and thigh high boots - its so cliche you have to laugh. But they are actually pretty nice and service is quite good. The drinks are way over-priced and nothing spectacular but the appetizers are very good (and also over-priced). I think what makes it all worthwhile is the space is wonderful and there are enough people there so that it always feels like its happening. Yet if you are there with your group, you can enjoy each other's company without it being too loud or feeling crowded in by all the other people there - not that many places in the city where you can do that.

Very poor service, for such a HIGH PRICE martini. Went there Saturday night 07-09-05, for a friends birthday, had what seemed to be a watered down Wet Pear Martini. It was wet. Paid for the very bad drink, and the group of 10, went around the corner to the Mandarin's Mo Bar. Had a great time, better drinks, and great service. As a New Yorker, I would tell all to think about Stone Rose, then go to the Mardain's Mo Bar. You won't be sorry.

Part of the Whiskey empire, the Stone Rose stands out from the rest because of both the size of the room and the view of Central Park and Columbus Circle. Time will tell if this will just be a tourist bar or will develop its own character and clientele.

Catering to the leisure class, the Stone Rose is one of the premier bars the city has to offer. With its decor and amazing views of Central Park, one can feel relaxed and truly at ease. The only drawback is the dreadful food slection, not to mention the food itself. Otherwise top of the line bar. However, it is wise to keep track of your tab because it can quickly turn into a several hundred dollar affair.

Great view of central park day or night. Very posh great crowd. Beware of wines by the glass they are not whats listed. a glass of phelps chardonnay($22)was clearly not when served. i questioned the waitress and she insisted it was. she brought over a bottle of phelps table white. huge quality price difference.other than that well worth the trip. strictly a drinking spot the food is limited.

Absolutely beautiful spot, but expect to pay beautiful spot prices. Great drink menu, with a few new and innovative drinks. Prices range $12 to $18 per drink, but between the attmosphere and the drink, I would say it is worth it......for a round or two. Anymore, make sure you can claim it on an expense account.
