This was by far the worst lounge/bar i have ever been to. the service is beyond horrible, the staff is obnoxious and rude, overall its a waste of time and money to even walk into this place. i dont recommend anyone going to this bar

worst service I've ever had.

This place is a complete fail. Even if you're throwing down your corporate card it's still pretentiously overpriced.
Great View ......awful service won't go back

The place has a nice view......as do numerous hotels/apts in the area....... tall hostess was a bobble-head and rude to boot. Service was really slow. $80 for 4 drinks so fairly expensive as well. Most appropriate for tourists who have never been in a building with a Park view.
Shouldn't the orecchetti meal have orrecchetti pasta ?

Yes there was a limited menu and yes it was over priced. With that being said , the ingredients listed for this menu item were sausage, spinach and pasta. My meal came with a bowl full of penne pasta, some sausage and a sauted spinach leaf. Could have the chef and waiter assumed I would not know the difference between the pastas? Shame on them. I would never ever go back. I rather enjoyed going to the Dizzy club instead. The food and service there is outstanding!

Very poor service, for such a HIGH PRICE martini. Went there Saturday night 07-09-05, for a friends birthday, had what seemed to be a watered down Wet Pear Martini. It was wet. Paid for the very bad drink, and the group of 10, went around the corner to the Mandarin's Mo Bar. Had a great time, better drinks, and great service. As a New Yorker, I would tell all to think about Stone Rose, then go to the Mardain's Mo Bar. You won't be sorry.

My guests and I reserved a table by the window on Saturday, February 19. The views of Columbus Circle were lovely and I can certainly see the draw for visitors even though we all live on the Upper West Side. The bottle of Champagne we ordered was served warm and when we finally flagged our server down, she defensively informed us that all the bottles were warm and we would have to patiently wait for it to chill in the ice bucket. Since when is Champagne served warm? We exchanged the champagne for average cocktails, paid and left. Service was non existent for the most part; slow and unprofessional at best. We never saw the presence of a manager either. This lounge has potential but for now, try another spot.
As a resident of the Upper West Side...

We've been looking for a place to frequent..that means "affordability" and "decent". The dancing space would be a plus. I called and they mentioned that they do NOT play mainstream music - GREAT! We don't like the same looped bar of music for an hour anyway. Also Kanye and Beyonce is for kids with no trained ear. Yet..So far the visitor reviews here are awful on this place. Why does it have a critic pick? Look..anyone who knows the upper west side..knows that's it's 60% rent stabilized/rent controlled. That's the percentage in our building. Nobody gives up their apartments and tend to pass them down through generations! This also means the majority is middle income. It's been that way since the 30s. There has been a movement to gentrify it and make it some upper middle class to uber wealthy area...that will not happen for some time. Since they cannot sell 800 sq ft for 1.1 million...I don't see anything changing anytime soon. SO..what I'm saying is you can get more out of the middle class if it's affordable. The frequency of selling a drink under $10 is better than having no one come to your place or just having tourists. If there is no life and no community it will not last as a business...not on the upper west side at least. They are too much like family there. I think it's a wonderful space...but not realistic. I would've given a higher rating..it really comes down with how much you want to blow on weak drinks. I will settle for the local dive bar!
Great view, not so great service

While the view is stunning and the food and drink are certainly decent, the prices are not and the service is practically nonexistent. My date and I stood by the door for close to ten minutes before anyone even noticed we were standing there, and even after we were seated, service was spotty at best--not to mention the fact that the prices did seem a little high. There are better options out there.
Good drinks, nice, but service is very slow

Ill start off by saying the Stoned Rose is one of my favorite places. Ive been there about 5 or 6 times and the service is mixed at best. Half of those times, there is never anyone at the front to greet you. Its as if the greeter is cleaning tables between greeting. Also, once you're in side, you need to order your 2nd drink at the point you are half way through your first drink becuase it takes a while to flag one of the waitresses and some time before they return. Again, I experienced this more than half the times Ive been here. Overall, a nice place to go to once or twice but the service would be a problem to come here as a regular.
