It's sad when things just don't live up to expectation. Cue TERROIR, the wine bar that's the bee's knees to everyone except people who actually live here. If you're visiting from Atlanta, then please go here. If you're visiting from Brooklyn, then skip this place and go to Ten Bells or a place that actually has a cohesive wine menu. Yes, the binder the wines is listed in is funky, but having 3+ wines from Patrick Mata is not. Riesling is funky, but not most of the ones Terroir is slinging. Basically, I recommend anyone who has an sign-up for Wine Spectator or Food & Wine to go here. Anyone who wants a bit more from a wine bar than something you can find on Bedford Ave., go elsewhere.

My husband and I were visiting NYC - we live in Atlanta - and had seen a review of this wine bar/restaurant so decided to try it. Absolutely wonderful! VERY small - only seats about 20 people max, so we got there early and had no problem getting a seat. The wine, appetizers, and service were all above and beyond our expectations. Great place to go if you like to sample different 'tappas' and wine. Casual but nice atmosphere. We'll definitely return the next time we're in New York.
