I work close by... a half a block from the bar. After working late one Tuesday evening, I went in to grab a drink and a bite with a friend. The bearded bartender working was not friendly in the least, gave me an obnoxious answer when I was figuring out if I should leave my tab open or not â€”Â an overall unpleasant evening. I will not be going back.

Great scene, great food, bad bartenders. They have really stuck up attitudes and they do not seem to want to be there at all. They also complain a lot. This is odd in front of customers. Also, they do not seem very nice unless they know you. This is not what great pubs in NY should be like. Leave those attitudes for the Meatpacking. Unfortunate...

You can get food. You can get growlers of great beer. The bar also has all the fixings for some wonderful cocktails. And my bartender was lovely. A great find!

This little spot is a welcome addition to an otherwise barren stretch on west houston. Finally there's a place to duck into after seeing a film at the Film Forum. The cocktail list was interesting - especially the gin based Firethorn - and the food menu, although limited, is well curated bites made by vendors across the east river. I love the pickle plate especially. The whitefish salad, something that usually sounds totally gross to me, was amazing. Pulled pork sliders are solid. The vibe is really chill and the crowd is young, but not too young.
