It's a bar with food, for chrissake, I don't get the whiners on this thread. Have been to literary events here, waited at the bar alone on an afternoon, warmed up with friends before a winter high line jaunt. It's always friendly and the food is comfy. And I'm an old lady. My 20 something daughter hangs out here with pals, too.

I attended a book release there. The food and drinks were decent, but I don't think that's the real draw of the place. It's got a cozy, wood-paneled atmosphere and good/literary things happening. It's expensive, of course, but not outside of the norm. I wouldn't avoid it. The waitstaff were friendly, too, despite a big crowd.

I love this place. The food is delicious and the beverage selection is decent. But I especially love Kendrick, the resident astrologer. A few months ago I came in late one night with a large group of friends and he gave us all readings while we ordered drinks. Definitely not what you expect from your local Irish Pub! The atmosphere is generally welcoming and warm.

I have always walked by this place and have wanted to go for a while, but was tragically disappointed. The hostess was not only unpleasant and rude, but an absolute tyrant when it came to seating. Our group was forced to move several times and kicked out of an otherwise empty outdoor patio simply because we were not ordering food (at 10pm on a Monday night). Worst pub experience I've had in NYC (perhaps the world) without a doubt. Being bullied by the staff severely distracted me from an otherwise decent venue and beer selection.
