I lived in Yorkville for three years, and actually found Tool Box's friendly, amiable staff and fun-loving patrons to be one of the selling points for the neighborhood in general. Lacking in attitude of any kind (other than upbeat), the bartenders, a la the ones in Billy Joel's "Piano Man" truly were 'quick with a joke', and would also have granted bar-flies a light of their smokes, had the latter not been banned by city ordinance. As the only game in town north of E. 90th, I'd heartily recommend an evening spent with matey regulars and new friends alike. Ignore the rumors and tales of a possibly checkered past; Tool Box in the 21st century is a whole new game - and one in which you enter and leave a winner, every time.

This place is a dump and the people who work there are too!! There is not one muscle boy that works there and the place smells like @SS!! It should be shut down and re-done!! The dancers look like scrawny dirtbags with diseases and alot more then just "boys in g string dancing" goes on there!!! 10 thumbs down!!!
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
