If you're here for food, go for the fried pickles and tater tots. They're awesome! Taco Tuesdays are pretty good too, especially if you find a seat on the patio, which is usually surprisingly uncrowded. The rest of the food is not bad, not great. The draft beer selection is limited but good enough, and they have a decent happy hour deal if you're good with Miller Light. It's not swanky, but it's got a good vibe and outdoor space, which is rare around here. Overall recommended for after work drinks.

My hubby, friends and I popped into Whiskey Tavern for an unassuming time on a Sun afternoon (Super Bowl Sun). We originally were going to stay for a cocktail and then head to the fishmarkets in Chinatown to buy lobsters. Fast forward, a billion drinks later, several flights of whiskey, and a bowl of bacon. (yes, a bowl of bacon w/ranch dressing)....well, we scrapped our plans to cook for Super Bowl and ordered pizza instead. The bartenders here are AWESOME and very funny. They really get to know the folks who come in the bar--be careful, it can totally derail your afternoon plans (but well worth it). We always have a great time here and take our out-of-town guests here to make a mess out of the afternoon.

this place has football on sundays (and baseball too) but more importantly, an awesome egg sandwich with tater tots and the best bloody mary around.
