I can't believe that there is no cover for the shows here, not like I'm asking for one. But the shows are such high quality, the best shows and lighting I've ever seen at a bar.

XL is a lively club in Chelsea, with a great staff, nice drinks, fab lighting and thumping music, however, the lack of a license makes it unfit for dancing, despite the driving sounds and the obviously expensive and eqyally impressive sound system. Get an inside hook-up (or be an important person) and spend the whole night in the VIP room watching people on the monitors or through the two-way mirror while sipping Cosmos and impressing your date!

It's a great bar with beautiful bartenders (one in particular is hot) and amazing energy. It's more of a starter bar to get your night going. The music is great and not to housey but it's enough of a blood pumper to make you want to move. It gets too crowded when the music gets really good and there's hardly any room to dance. That is XL's only drawback. Go with friends and interact...go somewhere else to get you dance on.

I had the greatest time of my life at xl, everyone was friendly and had the chance to meet new friends. From all the bars that i have been in the Village this one kicks ass. You be sure that i will tell all my gay friends to come and see this wonderful place. Daniel :)

I have only gone twice but I must say both times I have gone it has been the scene. The drinks are whatever and yes the entertainment can seem like you are watching paint dry, yet... it is all still in good class and taste. I plan to go back...immediately for my needs!

an awful experience -- not only is this place bland and uncomfortable, but the employees are unbelievably rude. any of a number of local gay bars will provide the same experience minus the abuse dished out by the clueless and inconsiderate staff at xl.
