The zinc bar is hands down the greatest true jazz bar in this city that purports to be the epicenter of the art form. It is a magnetic spot that draws listeners and musicians from all walks, and melds them together in a space that is so intimate you can reach out and touch the conga player. This makes for musical moments where true improvisation takes place, not the formula jazz heard elsewhere. This is not to mention the late night appearances of luminaries, as well as a tremendously human ambience. The drinks are excellent, the cover more than reasonable, and the staff enjoyable. Go nowhere else for the real thing.

I've been there with friends, colleagues, and by myself, and always had a great time. The music is wonderful (particularly latin jazz night). Unlike so many commercialized, prefab jazz clubs, this place still keeps the original flame alive. Dark, underground, with just enough of a seedy feel to be authentic.

Very stylish club with incredible live music. Always top of the line musicians. Friendly staff. Very international crowd as well as local regulars. Awesome mojitos!

I love this place. Zinc has a sultry atmosphere and great live band music. It's in a great location, bordering both the village and Tribeca but honestly you don't need to go much further than Zinc to make it a night to remember. Glad I found it. I'll keep coming back.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
