I have nothing but good things to say about this barber shop. I have tried many shops in my life and nobody has been able to cut my hair right on the first cut until I stepped into Frank's Chop Shop. The service is excellent! My barber was solely focused on one thing, my satisfaction. I have been going as regular since 2009 with absolutely no issues. I highly recommend this barber shop to anyone, no matter what type of hair you have or hair style you desire, they will deliver.

I just found this place on the site and went for a cut. The best haircut I have gotten. I have some of the most difficult hair to cut and AJ cut it perfectly and evenly. The hairstyle came out really nice and I love it. I will definitely be getting my haircut by AJ frequently. Tell him Steven sent you.

First time going to Frank's Chop Shop. Got my haircut by a guy named AJ. I came away with the best cut I've had in years. I am completely satisfied and plan on becoming a regular.

Fast, professional, cool. The barber - Ivan - swore he'd cut my hair before. Even though he hadn't it felt like he had. I"d recommend this place to anyone.

I went in today with pretty long messy hair and came out with a tight whole new look. I also got a little clipper dseign. In the end it came out to a reasonable $28. The head barber Mr.Bee was a nice guy and he did a great job cutting my hair. The place is more than i had expected. I definitely plan to visit again once my hair grows back.

Decided to try out Frank's based off the recommendations from nymag. Josee was my barber and he did an excellent job. I gave him complete freedom on my hair and he knew exactly what to do. The barbers are all very diligent and attentive. Excellent atmosphere with some pretty cool people milling around. The cost reasonable considering the amount time spent on me. I highly recommend and will go again.

Amazing cut. A few of my friends go to the chop shop regularly so I tried it out. I got a cut from Gogy the youngest kid in there and was a little hesitant at first. But his work was great, detailed, and just what i asked for. I also got the cleanest shave I've ever had and the hot towels smelled great- minty tea tree. Definitely going back in a few weeks. Thanks Gogy!

Let me start by saying I am pretty particular and inevitably hate every haircut I get, so I usually do my own up-keep. But I heard great things and felt particularly trustworthy, so I tried this place out. The cut was good, kind of like one of my old tight Dominican/Black barber shop fades, but with a upscale salon feel. It's really the best I've felt immediately after a cut in a while despite years of barber shop-hopping. I will definitely go back. The only negatives were that when I made my appointment I didn't specifically say I wanted a shave, so I showed up a with decent growth only to find out he wouldn't shave me as it wasn't part of my appointment. That was disappointing, but no biggie. Also, I won't complain about the price because, hey, its NYC. However, those who have short hair might not think $28+ is a good price for a 20 minute haircut. But for me it was worth it because I really felt like he paid attention to detail. Overall an exceptional cut.

I've gone their twice, and I had a better experience the first time and I'll be requesting Fritz' services in the future [better the devil you know, then the devil you don't know]. I have considerably short hair by today's standards, and have only requested "refined/clean cut" looks, but have inevitably been charged for a Premium Scissor Cut, about $40 not including tip. So don't expect the $25 rate unless perhaps you explicitly order a numerical razer setting. And insist they shave the back of your neck, because they may forget and their next appointment will arrive. Asides from that, these barbers are in fact highly skilled and take their time. I used to go to Astor before, which was very satisfactory for short haircuts, but these guys are superior at the details, and thats what makes the difference. A few weeks after an Astor cut its already time for a shape up, but these guy's cuts seem to grow and develop much cleaner.
