As of April 2015: I'm sad to report, they've lost me as a customer (nearly 2 decades ...). The students-stylists are primarily down-market GRUNGE now. These students / staff give grave concern in trusting my coloring or haircuts to turn out chic versus what they apparently consider attractive or trendy: butchered / choppy haircuts with crayola coloring, disturbing body and facial piercings, and unclean personal personna. It's been a growing trend in Aveda's classes and overall population for the past few years. Don't go here if you want to look red carpet gorgeous, or have a white collar job or neighborhood. This isn't what they feature any longer. Very 'alternative' and very grunge.

My stylist was only in her 4th month (out of 8), and she did an excellent job. Although I did have to make the appointment about two weeks in advance, once I got there, they served me promptly. The stylist and the instructor were both very thorough, which resulted in a cut I was extremely pleased with (they did a fabulous job on my bangs), but also required a pretty good amount of time. Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours there. Oh, and they start with a little scalp/neck massage, which was nice, and for the wash, cut, blow dry, its a flat $20.
