Not relaxing at all
By anonymoususer on 5/1/2010
I have 2 main complaints about this place, which I spent 2 hours driving to each way. The first is that I got only a 40 minute massage when I paid for an hour massage. When I finished the massage I figured it must have been a 45 minute massage, so when I went to pay, they tried to convince me that the masseuse actually gave me an extra 5 minutes, even though I waited a half hour for her to come get me, checked the time on 2 different clocks both on the way in and on the way out, then the manager tried to tell me that it was because the clocks are turned off at night and that all of the clocks are wrong so that must be my mistake. She gave me a free $7 drink on the house.... The buffet was ridiculous. First off it wasn't even a buffet, you ordered off of a menu so I ordered the pancake, and yes there was only 1 pancake and about 8 berries with about an ounce of mango syrup and tea, for $20! Complete rip-off. The worst part though is that they tried to lie to me at the end and make me feel stupid about telling time. I will NEVER go there again and do not encourage anyone to go there.
Great Space for an Event
By HeatherHanson on 6/11/2009
I attended an event at Body by Brooklyn about a week and a half ago, and was pleased with the arrangement and the size of the space there. We had a rather large group, but on a week night it was perfect - not too many other people there to cramp our space. A few of us got massages, and LOVED the therapists. And what's better than sipping a cocktail while relaxing in the jacuzzi? A little out of the way for me, but definitely worth a regular visit.
great PR but not mush else

I would honestly like to know the name of the company that handles the PR for this spa so I could hire them for my own company. They are on every blog and review in the city but sadly don't come even close to living up to the rep. I read about them on City search where they had some good reviews then read about them again on the Clinton Hill Foodie website. These tow sites painted vastly different pictures of this spa. I thought the foodie review was nothing more than a few x employees crying sour grapes so I decided to give them a try. BIG mistake! One of the worst experiences I've ever had. There are many spas out there that are deserving of our business. This place is sadly not one of them. Beware

I have been to Body by Brooklyn a lot of times and they have never charged me for coffee refill or hot water?! (as someone said before). Staff is very friendly and helpful. I love their wet lounge with a jacuzzi and Lorenzo - the best massage therapist.

I have been to BBB once, and was very satisfied with the experience - would recommend it highly!

I recently went to Body by Brooklyn for the Spa Brunch. The staff seemed completely unorganized. The brunch was meager and mediocre at best and what was worse, they did not give refills on coffee and even attempted to charge for hot water refill, with the same tea bag!! Never once did the bar/restaurant staff ask if we wanted anything, we had to endure irritating banter and ribbing from the bartender, who insisted on calling the women of our group "young lady." There was one nice guy. He had long hair and actually offered us water and came back with ice-water with lemon. The steam room wasn't steamy and the staff seemed less than enthused about making it steamy. In fact, the staff was less than enthused about any thing at all. Lets be honest, the place was not booming with business.
- The best reviews give a clear sense of why you liked or disliked a restaurant, bar, or store. And that means details. Mention specifics dishes, type of crowd, pros and cons...
- If it's helpful to compare one place to another, go for it.
- Come up with clever, funny, pithy subject lines, and write in the first person.
