I bet you anything that Christine Chin will tell you that you absolutely NEED micro dermabrasion. Even if you don't really need it. That's because she charges you 250 more for microdermabrasion, on top of your already expensive 250$ facial. With the products she will try to convince you to purchase, you will come out with a 800-900$ bill everytime you visit her. Christine Chin is very business like and she treats people like they are a dollar sign $$, always telling you that you need things you don't really need in order to turn your bill into an extravagant expense. Last time I went there, she was telling me I absolutely needed micro dermabrasion even though the last facial (with microdermabrasion) I had was a month prior. I've consistently read that she tells every client the same thing about micro dermabrasion. She doesn't care about the fact that her abrasive techniques are damaging your skin in the long run: she just thinks of $. I will NEVER go back there.

I work in beauty and have been to the gamut of spas and facialists. Christine is so passionate and takes her job very seriously in a good way. She is very professional and will guide you on the right path to better, healthier skin. She is honest, true to her trade and knows ingredients as well as some chemists. I would say give it a shot on your own and make your own judgement. It is very peaceful and calming inside, so you feel as though you did not just walk in off a busy NYC street.

Being a skin care fanatic for almost thirty years, I have to say Christine and her skin care have been one of my top five finds to keep my skin in shape. At almost 60, I know places like Bliss do cookie cutter facials that don't do anything for my skin. If you're looking for a run of the mill experience, go someplace else. If you want the best, and want a treatment that's specific to your skin, go to Christine. True, I've had to wait sometimes, but she's definitely worth it. I just plan my day accordingly. Her staff has never been mean to me. Perhaps that's because I'm not mean to them. And for the person who was complaining that Christine's staff push her products, take them up on their recommendations. Her products work!

I agree with the other reviews, I used to go here but will never ever go back! Christine screwed up my eyebrows so bad--totally uneven--that I had to go somewhere else to fix them! She wouldn't apologize and was incredibly rude even though it was obvious she had made them completely uneven. There was no one there when I went and it seems as if she's lost all her business. Trust me, there are plenty of places in NYC, go elsewhere!

This place stinks bad attitude - from the moment you call to walk in you feel as if you have done yourself and your wallet injustice- Leela, the receptionist is ice cold horror and this place consistenly double books appointments so even if you are on time, you end up waiting sometimes 15-20 minutes if not more. Its disgusting how these places still operate when their staff has the poorest of manners and are pathetic if non-existent customer service standards. Don't go here, these places do not deserve to exist in the city.

FROM THE MINUTE YOU WALK IN, YOU GET AN ATTITUDE FROM THE NASTY GIRL AT THE FRONT DESK TO THE FACIALIST TRYING TO PUSH PRODUCTS DOWN YOUR THROAT, WHILE YOU ARE TRYING TO RELAX. YOU ARE BETTER OFF GOING TO BLISS OR DR.BRANDT, THEY ARE CONSIDERED A HIGHER END SPA AND NO ATTITUDE! I WILL MAKE SURE TO TELL EVERYONE NOT TO GO HERE......I HAPPEN TO WORK FOR A MAGAZINE AND I WILL DEFINITELY MENTION WHERE NOT TO GO............HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

NOT worth the hype! I was a client for years but my last two experiences were awful. At the first one, I waited for Christine for 20 minutes, and shedid not finish the service I had specifically booked with her, but passed me off to another member of the staff with no explanation or apology. When I questioned the front desk about it, Christine ran out from the treatment room and yelled at me (in front of staff & clients in waiting room) that I should be grateful to have someone else finish it because it would be cheaper. The next time I got off on the wrong subway stop, called 2 minutes before the appointment to get directions and say I was lost in the neighborhood as a courtesy - but when I arrived 9 minutes late, Christine refused to complete my service even though she wasn't out of her previous appointment. Having searched for other salons, I think Kelly at Acqua Beauty Bar does a far superior job.
