Reasonably priced, that's it...

This is indeed a reasonably priced fitness center for its options in the area. But than imagine these: old, often rusty, equipment, and no visible intends from management to renew it. Limited assortment of machines comparatively to other places. It is possible of course to get used to specific to those machines exercises so to cover any kind of workout. Well, special exercises with no machines or equipment do exist for the same purpose, so can be done anywhere, and for free. Cardio and strength-training machines on the fitness floor packed close to each other basically in a hallway on the perimeter of kind of service rooms. Space is so limited, claustrophobia could evolve. Sauna is very lightly heated. Usually a lot of loud, very “actively behaving” teenagers. Members have told about their lockers being broken in, and stuff disappeared. Management is careless, ignorant, irresponsible, and arrogant. Can confirm that a Security person helps with towels and does not do his logical functions, like watching that lockers are not being tampered, in this case. Can't say it's very clean and fresh either. Guys, if you are looking for a clean, fully equipped, and member oriented fitness center, keep looking further, this is not a place for you. If you could work out with some receptors shut down (at least eyes, nose), add self-esteem, and dignity, than you can try.

I admit that I'm not a gym person, but I have been going to various YMCAs since I was three-years-old. They provide a valuable service. The Dodge YMCA is clean, has a variety of equipment, a wide range of classes, and a lap-length pool. The instructors run excellent classes, and there seems to be something for all ability levels. Yes, sometimes you have to wait for equipment. There are worse things to exchange for a reasonably priced way to keep oneself healthy in Brooklyn.
nice place but why so stingy with the pool?

My only complaint is that what they call "family swim" is only one lane of the pool unless it gets crowded, and then they grudgingly open a second lane...unless you're a lap swimmer the pool isn't for you. Other than that, it's a very welcoming facility.
