jamielynn is the best
By jyk72490 on 9/12/2013
I first went to fox and Jane after getting a horrible ombre done to my hair at another salon. Jamielynn fixed my ombre and did an amazing job! Ever since then I have continued to come to Fox and Jane. A few months after getting my ombre done, I went back to Jamielynn for a cut and added some balayage highlights. I will be going back in a few weeks to recolor my hair for the fall. I definitely recommend this hair salon! I finally found a salon and hair stylist that I can trust!

I wanted to go from brunette to blonde, but since I'm super bad at hair maintenance, I knew the upkeep of a double process would be too much for me. I decided on full highlights instead, but was worried I wouldn't be able to go very light without a base coat. Mimi did an AMAZING job--my hair is totally blonde and looks great. It looks natural and bright and shiny and healthy! I will definitely be going back to Mimi!
Where Everybody Knows Your Name

The staff at Fox and Jane are so incredibly inviting and warm that you won't mind trekking out in the rain to get a haircut. When I first went to Lorean, I made it known that I had never stuck to one hair salon in my 27 years. "I'll change that," she said. And with the perfectly executed ombre highlights she gave me, she did! From haircuts to Nicole's amazing styling, this salon is not your average NYC hair salon. From the moment you walk in the door, you feel like you can cut loose and chill with girls that get you. I am a loyal customer now and always recommend Fox and Jane when someone needs a new salon.
This Is The Place!

Ten Gold Stars for my experience at Fox & Jane! And Maria! I had been to so many hair stylists in NYC, but just didn't find what I was looking for, then I found Maria at Fox & Jane! Great vibe & great experience, the salon is friendly and sociable, and comfortable. Maria knows and has studied hair for sure! She truly loves what she is doing and it shows in the smiles of every returning client. I got a great color for my hair, and she fixed a not so great cut I had gotten a week before elsewhere. Maria is now my hairstylist, colorist, and I am so happy, happy, happy, that I now have found my hair professional and will not be looking elsewhere. Fox & Jane is my dream salon, and Maria is the stylist that I hoped existed but could never find until now.

Just went in for a haircut with Jamielynn--she's fantastic. She was recommended to me by a friend and I would enthusiastically encourage others to solicit her styling services. She cut my shoulder-length hair into a classic chin-length style with little direction from me. Her work indicates that she clearly understands hair! I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the salon. I was warmly greeted upon entering the space and offered something to drink. Looking forward to getting my next cut!
A good time and a great hair do!

I followed Maria Christina to F & J and I'm glad I did. Fox and Jane IS tres intime, but welcoming and fun. Maria gave me a great color and haircut -- she always listens really well and lets me know what she's doing at any given moment. She checks in with you as she works in case you want to make any changes -- bangs a little shorter, whatever. I trust her implicitly as a stylist, and she's so cool I want to hang out with her, too. You will love the groovy high tech sink that adjusts itself to YOU during shampoos, too.

I've lived in nyc for about 5 years and haven't found a salon I really like until Fox & Jane. I had a cut with Jennifer who did an amazing job and was super sweet and funny. Not only did she give me an awesome cut (my hair has been awkwardly growing out for about a year and she made it look amazing), she showed me how to make it look exactly the same way she did but when I was at home. And it worked! I seriously love this salon and will definitely be back!
Fun Salon, Great Cuts

Fox and Jane is inviting and the kind of salon where you have fun while you get your hair cut. The vibe is refreshing, and the people are unpretentious in the best way. Lorean and the others make you feel like one of the gals (or guys). Lorean really listens when you describe how you would like your hair cut and she has a great eye and taste. I would absolutely recommend to a friend.

Moved up to NYC and like so many girls I know, wasted too much time struggling to let go of my hairstylist "from home" of 6 years. I found Lorean/Fox and Jane and I'm never ever looking back! Lorean hands down is a triple threat. My highlights always look amazing. As a blonde herself, I trust her completely with my color. Recently, she helped me take the plunge in cutting off major inches from my long locks and I LOVE it. I never used to like the way my hair looked when someone else styles it post-salon visit, but curled or straight, she always gets it right! On top of all this, Lorean is a wonderful and fabulous person who makes the time go by with witty conversation and hair insight. You can't beat the location and the salon itself is adorable. (Exposed brick, glass of wine, great people, Need I say more?)
A word for the Fellas'

I moved to NYC from England about a year or two ago. I love Fox and Jane. I went on recommendation from a few of my buddies who knew Lorean and Jamie Lynn from there previous Salon location. They always have a beer ready for me and It feels like home or hanging out with friends. I won't try to "guy" this up anymore - but deff a great place to get an unpretentious hair cut.
