Best of New York
By els2480 on 9/9/2010
My workouts have primarily revolved around running and yoga was never part of my repertoire. I've done it before, yet always felt that I was forcing myself to enjoy it. Then I discovered Lauren's class last winter. It's been a part of my weekly routine since. Lauren runs a rigorous yoga class. It's one of the best workouts I've found in New York. When I exercise, I like to work hard and "feel the burn." The studio is a wonderful place to do yoga. Lauren is incredibly knowledgeable and her classes are fun, challenging and full of variety. She has both the "hard" yoga you want to push yourself physically, as well as the meditative portion that keeps you sane. The studio itself has a very inviting and peaceful vibe to it and it is somehow always at the perfect temperature. And her music selection is the icing on the cake.

This is for sure the best yoga class I've taken in the city! It is the perfect mix of spiritual and athletic. The music is always great and diverse. Lauren gives individual attention to everyone throughout the class and is very encouraging. My strength and flexibility improved significantly in a short amount of time and I've never been in better shape in my life as when I take her class regularly. We are always learning new poses and in different combinations, so it never gets boring and time flies during class. I HIGHLY recommend I.AM.YOU if you like a faster paced and more athletic (and very sweaty) style of yoga.
Yoga for All!

I would not describe myself as a "yoga guru", but this class has improved my flexibility, my posture, and my overall well being. Lauren is a fantastic teacher, motivator, and role model (wait till you see her physique)! If you are looking to sweat it out, relieve stress, and get your body back in balance, this class is for you. You'll sense a commaderie between the students and you'll be encouraged to try that pose that you always thought was unachievable, even if you do fall or stumble a bit. The I AM YOU Studio is always a highlight of my week!
