I wouldn't travel out of my way to go here (except for brow threading-excellent!!), but they do have every service under the sun, and you can generally get an appt. on short notice. The manicure/pedicure at the same time is a time saver, and I got a good haircut and blow-out.

My husband & I had appointment scheduled for a mini/pedi at Jeniette. I arrived 5 minutes early confirmed both appointments. My husband arrived on time & after looking him up & down refused to see him. They made up several excuses why he could not be seen then reluctantly agreed to see me & asked him to come back when I was done back instead of waiting from me at the salon. What made them uncomfortable? -Either it was the fact that we are an interacial couple (he is black) or that they expected my "friend" that I made the appointment for to be female I'll nevr know but either way it's blatent Discrimintation ! I walked out & will never go back or reccommend Jeniette to anyone. Discrimiantaion should not be tolerated.

I have been a patron of Jeniette for years, and have never had a less than fantastic experience there. Their manicure/pedicures are the absolute best; they take their time with you and never rush or hustle you for "better top coat" or any of that nonsense you get at the dime-a-dozen salons found on every corner. I go well out of my way to go there because it is worth it. The waxing is as gentle as it can be, the facials are great (and great price) and the staff is friendly and warm. I have referred several friends who are now all regulars as well. You can almost always get an appointment and will be treated like family...and they do NOT discriminate despite what one reviewer wrote! My friends love getting gift certificates too.

Was a long time patron of Jeniette’s & brought gift packages for my mom & friends but will no longer attend nor recommend. Considering that I’m a frequent cust. you would think they would allow some kind of extension or make up for a gift for my mom who had found the gift cert after misplacing it during a move. They out right said there was no extension even if the date was 3 days old. The rude manner topped it all off. As a cust. I was appalled at this service to those loyal to their establishment. Service used to be better so I'm sad to see such a negative vibe. I will no longer use their serv Other places: AquaSpa just 2 blocks away on 14 bet. University & 5th, good service, nice people, cheaper Brazilian waxes (for those interested) which was the service i used to go for at Jenrette’s. Oasis day spa (for the pricier bunch but GREAT, got this as a gift from my beloved) Zoia's on a Ave A and 13th or 12th St’s, great gal who does wonderful hair, great attitude, & has even better prices on waxing! But call ahead.

I came in to have my eyebrows done for a lot less than what I was paying ($65). Rosa gave me a nice, even shape. However, service here is VERY informal (people eating, shouting to each other, doing work on themselves, and talking about clients near them.) If it weren't for the fact that I still haven't found another place to have my brows done, I would not return. The place looks like it's in the midst of repair that won't get done and with all the shouting, it is not a relaxing nor beautiful place to have your nails done.

I really liked this place, it's comfortable, my mani pedis always look excellent, even if the staff isn't exactly inviting or cuddly. The mani pedi combo on Monday and Tues is affordable, making it a great value.

I came to the salon twice last summer. The first time was fine, everyone was nice, it was good quality. I was glad there were no whirlpools though didnÂ’t love keeping my feet in a plastic liner in a basin. Second time was another story. The owner was running around in rollers having the suffering-looking staff do her nails. A male customer was getting his hair bleached and the manicurists were making fun of him in Spanish. Some woman said she forgot cash and had to go to an ATM. The owner said that was fine. After the woman left she said she didn't trust her. Then when I got a pedicure the woman made fun of me because the light color was streaky and blamed it on my nails (rather than the polish being old) even though I had the same type of color the previous time I came. Other manicurists came over to look which was embarrassing and unnecessary and they were talking about it in Spanish. When I complained to the front desk woman she said distractedly, "yes yes the customer is always right" and tried to be friendly but it was just fake.
