The Best of Experiences
By bbnyc1987 on 9/8/2015
I have been a customer of Laicale for nearly 6 years now-- as long as I am living in New York City, I will be a customer for life. This alone should speak for itself. The minute you enter Laicale, the mood is set. From the lighting, music, and to the chic + clean design of the salon, one immediately feels reassured by not only the aforementioned, but also the incredible reception staff. When you meet with your stylist (I think there is a range of pricing per stylist) he or she works with you to make sure you receive the haircut/styling that you seek. Next, the hair wash experience is one of a kind and I promise you will receive one of the best massages of your life! While I prefer to have my haircut by Fabrizio, I have had 2 or 3 other stylists over the years and have never been let down by any of them. Each stylist takes the time that is deserved for each client, and your experience is never rushed. I have nothing negative to say about the salon and or experience. Rest assured there is no better experience than to walk out of Laicale KNOWING you look and feel great!
Takako is briliant!
By eteresa on 5/4/2009
I was given a free consultation with Takako, who was very honest and put no pressure on me for what to do. I returned to get subtle highlights with her and she is incredible. She's very sweet, thoughtful, and immeasurably knowledgeable about hair. I came back recently to get my roots done and to get a haircut - the whole process was seamless. From the past two times, I feel like I could go in and just let her do what she thinks would look best on me, both color and cut-wise, and there's not a doubt in my mind that I'd be happy with the results. The only reason I give an 8 for value is b/c I still think it's a bit ridiculous to charge $90 for a haircut, but I'll absolutely go back forever because I know I'll never be disappointed with Takako's work.
Ryan at Laicale
By bel79 on 3/11/2008
Ryan has been awesome, he has been doing my hair for quite a few months and I couldn't be happier. He always gets it done, literally exactly like I want it, I've been to a lot of salons and I'm glad I finally found this place. All the stylists are amiable and say hello, and quite a few, even though I'm not their client know me by name and always say hi. Great place to get your hair done. The scalp massage is amazing as well. Highly recommend Laicale and Ryan especially.
An Overall Wonderful Experience
By alrightamanda on 2/12/2007
I have been going to Laicale off and on for years. After leaving in search of a different salon experience, I came back. Laicale is like no other. Compared to other salons that I have visited in the city, Laicale's experience is unique, a good value, and a wonderful time. I do not just go there to get a haircut, I go for feeling I get when I am there, and how great I look afterwards. My stylist Aya is wonderful. I give her creative control and she is able to give me a haircut that fits my life and my style. Everyone at Laicale is friendly and helpful. The loft - like atmosphere is not cold, but strangely inviting. It's the only place that I will go to now, ever.
- The best reviews give a clear sense of why you liked or disliked a restaurant, bar, or store. And that means details. Mention specifics dishes, type of crowd, pros and cons...
- If it's helpful to compare one place to another, go for it.
- Come up with clever, funny, pithy subject lines, and write in the first person.
- Don't forget to read the user rating guidelines and rules.
