Don't believe the hype. If you're not a socialite or a regular customer, Marie won't put much effort into coloring your hair. I went in with a lot of caramel brown pictures so she could pick the most realistic one.She glanced at the pics, told me that she would have to lift my color first to see how much red is underneath. My hair color pre-Marie was not that bad. It was chocolate brown with some lighter strands. She proceeded to apply something that would "lift" the color to allow her to determine what to do next. I waited for 30 minutes during which she came to check on me once and said "oh it's doing great things to your hair".Her assistant washed my hair. Then she didn't say anything, just went to talk to Marie which really worried me. She then applied a toner to tone down the orange. She left it in for 10 minutes then told me that Marie would not able to do my highlights the same day because I only booked her for a full-process.Hair was very orange and all the grey was still there! Marie came by and said "let's see what the color does over the next few days, if you want you can book a later appointment for highlights". I had to pay $250 when Marie herself didn't even color my hair! All she did was "lift the color" then she let her assistant apply a toner to minimize the mess. And she didn't talk to me at all even at the end when she came to see my hair! She kept asking the person sitting next to me if she wanted them to order her some lunch while ignoring me.
