i went to pipino's with an appointment to meet with one of ric pipino's other stylists but he ended up not making it to the salon so ric cut my hair. it was evident from the start ric was disinterested in me entirely, he made me feel like it was a huge waste of his time, retrospectively this should have been a red flag and i wish i had just left....but i didn't. i had very long hair, which was somewhat of a point of pride, ric told me that he wanted to cut my hair to "mid-back" and trim my bangs; apparently ric changed his mind, or perhaps even forgot, while i was getting my hair washed. i left the salon with shoulder length hair, it was a completely cliched layered hair cut that wasn't flattering at all; it was a very startling change and i would have appreciated being aware of what ric was going to do before he did it. aside from the fact that i was unhappy with how ric cut my hair i wouldn't recommend this salon solely based on the way ric treated me. he was rude and was making snide, condescending comments about the electrician who was servicing the salon (who seemed like a perfectly nice guy). i've never been compelled to write a review before but i just really feel strongly about my experience here, maybe the other stylists are more attentive and personable but ric was not.

Looking for a good haircut, I happened upon Pipino and got an appointment with Ric. It is the single best haircut I have ever gotten, and the salon is beautiful, laid back and unpretentious. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

I saw the ad in Vogue and decided to try it out. First off, 300 dollars for a haircut isnt really in my budget so I opted for a mid range stylist. I got partnered up with Jean Marc (he was 175) and I guess the cuts start aroiund 100. Anyway, my first impression when calling was that they were not snotty as the woman on the phone was very sweet. When I arrived i was offered french pressed coffee and there were fruits and nuts for picking. It looked like a dream loft with black and white furniture and colorful modern art. So many funky rings and bags to buy..however I didnt have the extra dough. Next time. My stylist was AMAZING. I got the best haircut of my life and hte whole staff was so friendly and talkative. I met the owner, he came right over and introduced himself!

I have gone to a lot of salons and had a lot of hairstylists, but no one has ever been able to give me a cut better than Dion. He is a bit pricey (to say the least) but many other stylists that cost around the same do not compare with him. I have very curly hair and have had my share of mediocre hair cuts, but Dion knows what he is doing and I always have a phenomenal cut - even as it starts to grow out it still holds its shape. He is also concerned with hair health and will recommend great products so your hair stays healthy. Nicole was my colorist and she also is phenomenal. If you have curly hair - or even if you don't - and you are at a loss as to where to go to find someone that will know how to cut, style and care for your hair, go see Dion at Pipino.
