Ruggeri is a superb boutique hair salon tucked away in a New York townhouse. I adored my entire experience from the minute I walked in the door. I was treated like royalty and cannot rave enough about the talented Cassie Harwood. My hair responded so well to her cutting technique and now I'm proud to wear my hair down. I've always had blonde streaks in my hair but somehow Cassie has made my hair look more natural than ever before. This girl is a master I'm telling you. Book an appointment today! Thank you Cassie for being so brilliant and I can't wait to see you again soon.

I was looking for a new stylist last fall before I grabbed scissors and chopped off my multi-toned hair with more split ends that I could ever count. After Googling a bit (really, what did we do before Googe?!) I was lucky enough to find Greg. We set up a consultation where he kindly told me my tresses weren't as bad as I thought. And after following his advice to stop coloring the base AND bleaching, to allow the grey to come through and mix with highlights, my hair has never looked so great or been in such wonderful condition. I can't rave enough about his talent or generosity. Now stop reading and CALL HIM!

I came across Salon Ruggeri through New York Magazine as I was looking for a new stylist and can not give enough praise to this salon. I have had many disappointing experiences in my time but can finally say I have found the perfect place! Not only does my hair look the best it ever has- the environment, decor and energy was like nothing I had ever experienced. I had Cassie do my hair who I instantly loved. She is very knowledgeable with both coloring and styling but most of all she understood what I wanted and did it perfectly. I would highly recommend Salon Ruggeri to anyone who wanted the ideal hair experience.

After breaking up with my long time hair stylist, I was desperately looking for someone in the city that would be worth paying a little extra $ for. I loved the atmosphere, loved Cassie, and love my new hair. Will definitely be going back to get even blonder!

Never in my life have I returned willingly to a salon, until I found Salon Ruggeri. Greg helped me go from dark brunette to blonde, a drastic change that I was quite nervous about. But I'm in love with the results! He explained everything really well too so that I actually understood what we were doing and why we were doing it. Makes a huge difference. Since then, I've gone back for cuts, blowouts and of course, to touch up my roots and have been immensely pleased every time. Aside from how exquisitely talented the whole team is, they are also very nice. The atmosphere is completely different than your typical salon. Instead of being a loud, harrowing experience, spending time at Salon Ruggeri is like taking a break from your hectic Manhattan life. Someone will make you delicious coffee that is unrivaled by most New York cafés. It's always a treat. You can see photos and read more about my brunette to blonde process at Salon Ruggeri on my blog: http://www.voguegonerogue.com/2012/02/brunette-to-blonde.html Hope it's helpful!

There are so many reasons to LOVE Ruggeri. The beautifully decorated setting is so intimate, calm & welcoming. You have the full attention of Greg, who is genuinely kind & completely lacking in pretension. Most importantly though, Greg is incredibly skilled & will give you the most flattering, natural-looking color ever. What's so amazing is he is as gifted with cuts as he is with coloring. Sometimes in the past, I'd love a haircut initially & then be disappointed with the way it grew out. Not so here! And it's been over a year; I was lucky enough to discover Ruggeri shortly after they arrived in NYC. I'm so grateful they're here.

I don't usually write on yelp, but after having my hair cut by Cassie at Salon Ruggeri last week, felt compelled to let others know that an amazing haircut in a private space in New York does in fact exist! I have been getting my hair dyed by Greg for many years now, having moved recently from Sydney to New York, and have never had such an enjoyable holistic experience at a hair salon. As mentioned by others previously, the interior design and decoration of the space is second to none, with Greg's partner Craig combing the internet, auction houses and markets for the most exquisite of pieces to decorate the salon with. Having my hair cut by Cassie felt like catching up with a good girlfriend, in a salon where the screeching of multiple hair dryers does not exist, and is instead calming and almost meditative. Sensitive to the complex emotions women attach to their hair (!!), Cassie thoughtfully listened to my hair likes and dislikes, and gave me a haircut that is both easy to maintain and incredibly unique. I love it. Knowledgable on what hairstyles and shapes suit various faces, I also really enjoyed chatting to Cassie about what would be best for my hair long-term.

Time is precious to all us living in NYC, so to find a salon that makes every minute spent there worth it is truly a testament to Greg Ruggeri and his team. From the moment you walk through the door up the red carpet to the salon, you are shown a service that would only be fit for a queen. Whether you know exactly what you want, or you need inspiration with your hair, Greg, takes the time to understand and consult with you before working his magic. He is my fairy godmother that works miracles on my hair, whether its a quick highlighting session or new cut and blow dry, every second is magical. Whether you are a princess or not, you will certainly feel like one once you walk out of his salon.

Salon Ruggeri is hands down the best hair salon I have ever been to. Period. It is small, intimate, and elegant. You never feel as if you are being rushed out of the chair. I see Cassie who is so patient with me every time I come in. She really listens to what I want and talks through my options with me. My hair is the best it has ever looked, hands down. Not to mention my color!! I like to keep my hair a nice wheat colored blonde which in the almost seven years I have lived here no one has been able to do. Cassie nailed it on the very first visit. Her cuts are perfect and are only equalled by her ability to deliver a beautiful color every time. Whereas other salons might make you feel as if you are not quite cool enough to be there, the atmosphere at Ruggeri is welcoming and peaceful. Perhaps if you're lucky you might go on the day when Craig has made some of his delicious ginger tea! Regardless you will always feel at ease and leave happy!

After 20 years in NYC, Greg knows how to do great "natural" looking highlights: as if you walked off of Biondi Beach in Sydney! Greg is professional, kind, creative and a pleasure to work with. His salon lair is a welcome departure from the craziness of NYC popular/fashionable salons. It's a relaxing, etheral experience. Don't let the secret out...
