Two years ago my Florida hair stylist moved to Colorado to open a salon. I have been to at least 20 different people since then and have not liked my hair in two years. We were planning a trip to Manhattan to visit our daughter so I did a google search for "the best hair stylist in Manhattan". Allison's name was mentioned several times. Now I know why. She is fantastic. She looked at my hair, listened to what I didn't like and then proceeded to give me a gorgeous new style. It has been several weeks and I still can't pass a mirror without saying, "I love my Hair". I can't wait until October when I can see her again. She is very artistic so you get a great haircut but also a wonderful flattering style.

I have always gone to Robert Kree in the West Village, but with their recent closing was torn between finding a new stylist or following my old stylist from there. I have to say by the end of my haircut I was signing the salons praises and so happy with his new move. Perhaps you need to just find a stylist and stick with them? I've had plently of friends get awful haircuts uptown so it's really a matter of your stylist and being VERY clear about what you want. I always leave with the perfect color and the exact haircut I'd envisioned. Even the assistants were helpful! I left the salon in record time because I had not only my stylist but an assistant helping dry my hair so he could focus on my style.. If thats not quality I dont know what is. In a city full of overly ambitious hairdresses looking to make a statement its a rareity to find such an oasis in this salon. I had nothing but a positive experience and perhaps you should ask for Vincent in the future.

If you are not famous, don't go. Rude, rude rude. Spa is months away from being ready, yet they are taking clients anyway. Taking their money that is...the worst facial I've had at any price in NYC! The salon was overbooked and riddled with mistakes...they bleached my eyebrows instead of drying them darker -- after keeping us waiting for over an hour...no apology, full charge. The conditioning treatment was a waste of time and money, I left with more tangles than I arrived with! Go somewhere else!
