I hope all of you readers out there get to have the same experience as I. I was not to sure what to do with my hair color... I was recommended to go to Allison G. at Salon AKS ...she knew exactly what to do. Not only did she give me the best and most natural color my hair has ever been, she was the most professional colorist I have ever been to. If you are looking for a new look or need help with your current color Allison is the one to book an appointment with!!!

Looking for a new styalist (mine is now out of state) is always a bit of a challenge, but my experience at Salon AKS was among my worst ever. My first clue should have been that there was only one other client in the salon. I should have walked out after the second red flag appeared: no matter how many times I described how I wanted my hair, the styalist persisted in planning a totally different cut. Ultimately I left with hair that looks mediocre at best and embodies none of the qualities that I requested from the styalist. It is possible that there are styalists who do better work at AKS, but given the dated look of the place, the absence of other clients and my unfortunate-looking hair, I will be going elsewhere in the future.

Had my hair colored by Kathleen the "head" colorist. Not a bad job, but it is uncomfortable letting her know what I wanted, she felt she knew better. It is not the best color, it is slightly brassy, but compared to some of the disasters I have experienced, I can live with it. I am beginning to believe that no top hyped colorist is worth the money. The blow out was not great, the woman was yanking out my hair, and I asked her to be a little more gentle. The staff is not very good.

I originally went to AKS for color only but recently my hair stylist left town so I decided to try ALain. The first time he cut my hair was fine but the second time was a total disaster. It has been three months and I am STILL trying to out grow the mess of layers he added. I had brought a pciture for him as a guide which was totally ignored and while I specifically requested my sides not be cut shorter than the back, that is exactly what he did. I will never return to him. I have been to two other stylists and both can't believe the terrible cut he gave me.

Seeing the strong positive recommendation by this website i decided if anyone was going to cut my hair it would be Alain Pinon. He's had years of experience and it sounded as if he was well known as a hairstylist. I booked my appointment/consultation for $200 in 0ct/2005. The consultation lasted a total of 45 seconds- He wasnt really interested at the picture i had brought and barely listened to my description of the haircut i wanted. Although he repeated back to me the length he would cut my hair (up to my collarbone),he ended up adding layers and layers that i had never asked for and we hadnt discussed. I had wanted a straight even cut but he did someting entirely different. I ended up getting my hair chopped off into horrendous looking layers that are so short it will take me about 6-7 months to grow my hair out into the length i wanted-and then to get another haircut. Presently my hair looks so awful i have to pin my hair back and cannot even think of wearing it out. I am seriously thinking about getting hair extensions until it finally grows back to a reasonable length.
