Carolyn De Palma is an extremely talented and reliable colorist. I've been to many over the years and she is, by far, the best. Salon AKS is worth going to because of Carolyn.

Carolyn DePalma is the best hair colorist I've ever had and I've had a lot over the past 60 years. I was with her at Fekkai and found her again at AKS. She is so personable and always remembers your name and the last conversation you've had with her. My haircolor is perfect - she's the best with highlights!! People have actually stopped me on the street to remark about my color. No matter what theeconomy or my circumstances, I would never give her up!

I have been going to AKS Salon for about 10 years and never have I been disappointed. I always feel confident that my highlights and cut will be just what I want. The personal attention makes be feel so very comfortable and special. I highly recommend ASK Salon but it is a bit on the expensive side so I don't go every month. I try and go every 8 weeks at least for highlights and hold off on the cut for longer if I can.

JAntony has been my colorist for my entire years of color care, ( over 20 years). AKS is a wonderful salon, mixed with initmacy as well as high class services. The amazing talent of JAntony is that he of course does highlights for blonds, with so many varieties, but more important, he has taken brunettes from boring and predictable, to warm and luscious. I was born a redhead, and he has maintained me, with the utmost of athenticity. It is not easy for a redhead to look completely natural, but he does it everytime. And he will add texture and dimension, by doing some of his many talented additions, thus having my hair look like it has highlights. I repeat..."the Van Gogh of color"!!

All right, ladies, if you're looking for compliments, if you want men to fawn over your locks & for women to envy your color, it's time to make an appointment with J. Antony. He is a master of color (uses a technique called "Belliage) and knows what best compliments your skin tone, personality & the season. He has "matched my hair," high/low lighted it and single processed it. All wonderful! It always exceeds my expectations and I float out of the salon feeling and LOOKING great. And heck, he's a charmer too with his unique style of laughter. Kidding aside, I have been "coloured" by Antony for ten years or more and his skill is unmatched in NYC. My hair is BEAUTIFUL! Thank you so much, J. Antony, Color Directeur at Salon at AKS!

I’ve been going to Mika for years and have watched her move from stylist to to the director of the salon and I can understand why—she always gives me exactly what I want. For my wedding, she began planning my wedding day look with me since the moment I got engaged. She suggested I have Nyree create custom clip-in extensions so that my hair would be fuller and hold a style better for the day. I absolutely love the extensions Nyree made for me and the bonus is that since they are clip-ins, I can wear them whenever I want. The extensions are pricey, but they last for years and in my opinion, were worth it. Both Mika and Nyree always give me tons of attention and address my every concern (and as a nervous bride-to-be, I assure you, there are lots!). I always walk out of AKS with a huge smile on my face since, in addition to looking great, I also feel great after seeing Mika and Nyree.

I've seen some of the best hair colorists in Manhattan over the last 20 years to maintain my blond locks - colorists with whom I've been extremely happy - but J. Antony is the best BY FAR. I'm 100% satisfied with his work every time. He's a true artist with a "less is more" approach. He's also a perfectionist (like I am!), who pays close attention to each and every strand of hair he touches, giving his clients the most beautiful, natural results. I've been asked so many times by complete strangers on the street where I get my hair colored that I've started carrying J. Antony's business cards around with me. It's understandable why he's the salon's color director! He's simply the best. I feel fortunate to have found him.

The best colorist in NYC, perhaps the country....J Antony! This artist has been coloring my hair for over 15 years, yet at each visit he surveys "the look" with a fresh eye. J Antony and the staff at AKS are so respectful of their client's time. They consiously do not over book as they know for many of us, a visit to AKS is a retreat. Take the time for an extraordinary haircut by Mika. She has an amazing feel for shape and movement. I treasure my visits to AKS and always leave feeling so well cared for!

I too have been going to AKS from its opening 10 years ago. I followed J Antony, their master colorist, from another salon. He's a tonsorial artist, if there is such a thing: brilliant sense of color, matched to the PERSON, and an absolute perrfectionist, which warms my compulsive little heart. Thanks to him, I also discovered the equally praiseworthy Craig, who gives the most consistently terrific haircut I've ever had (big statement, eh?). Moreover, they are both wonderful human beings, and while that may not be essential to your hair, it's a pretty great plus for your mental health, as far as I'm concerned. The entire staff is professional, friendly, thoughtful -- none of that snootiness that makes you feel 'little.' A real New York find.

I have been going to this salon since it opened, following the owners from Frederic Fekkai. I have always been pleased. I am particularly thrilled with J Anthony, the leading colorist at this location. I am constantly complimented on my beautiful hair color. He colors hair so it works with the tone of your skin and looks natural. If you want to go extreme, he will tell you no and refuse to do it. No false blondes here. I have Kao cut my hair and he does it with precision and speed. I've tried other to cut my hair, but always return to him because his styling works and it grows out perfectly. Both Kao and J Anthony are really pleasant. It is a very comfortable and unpretenious salon, with a very helpful and talented staff. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my hair.
