Revolver Salon is the Best
By Crushseer on 6/17/2009
I just wanted to say what a pleasant experience I recently had with Allyn and his assistant. They truly made a bad hair day to the greatest. Over uptown near Columbia University! Quality does pay off. Keep up with the great service. Thanks Maria K
Best reasonably-priced blowout in Soho
By Carolyn Murnick (NY MAG) on 4/25/2010
The service can vary greatly depending on which stylist you get, but when Revolver is on, it is decidedly the best, cheapest blowout in a neighborhood where they regularly run upwards of $50.
So much money..

I went to the Union Square location and got my front highlight re-dyed (its just the front section) and a trim and it cost me almost $400...I'm not sure if I was played and should've challenged it? But it was just one of those things were I was so shocked that I just handed over my card with a gaping mouth...The blonde came out very nice and the trim was done well...but I mean it definitely wasn't $400 worth of work..

I needed a retouch highlight and with my usual girl out of town I thought I'd try a "student" named Clara for $20. She was 1.5 hours behind. I should've ran out the door at that point. James , supervisor, screamed every time he opened his mouth, he tried to be helpful but had his own clients so couldn't give her much attention. She didn't hold the comb with confidence, foils were slipping and she was on the verge of tears every time James tried to suggest help. As I was getting foiled the girl before me results were being discussed and she wanted to go dark but came out the same color, only a few highlights - brassiness didnt come out and "bleed marks" everywhere. She finally left and probably went to a real salon like I eventually had to do. Well, they have 4 chairs and 9 clients at one point so we're standing and swapping seats and it was insane chaos. My results - after 5 hours - bleed marks (splotches of bleach b/c foils moved and she put the bleach so close to scalp and didn't account for bleach to grow), over toned - left on too long so hair became grey - yes grey. So that led me to go get it fixed by a real salon paying $300 for corrective. Yes, over the top on price, but I look normal - actually amazing now. Salon is on bond street named Eva Scirvo Salon. Beautiful, professional and best of all - I had my own seat! Moral of the story - you get what you pay for - don't make the same mistake and think you're getting a good deal. It's a drug store.
Worst bang trim ever
By nycanna on 11/23/2009
I took a chance and stopped in the Soho location for a bang trim. I explaned I had side swept bangs that just needed a trim. The stylist brushed my bangs straight forward and just cut straight across. I coudlnt believe it. I explained my long bangs were supposed to hang to the right at an angle. She then just cut an angle and spent a few minutes straighting out the end. There is a lot more to trimming bangs than just holding your scissors at an angle. I could have done this at home! They charged me $35 when the sign said $20 becuase mine was "more than a trim" I have no idea why, but I didnt want to argue. I was furious and will never be back.
