Atsuko for Blonde!
By dianacchavez on 6/24/2012
I came in here after looking up "best salons for blondes" and found this article as I've just moved from LA to NYC. I had actually made an appt at Louis Licardo but when I showed up they were scared to work with the one row extensions I have in my hair, and told me I couldn't bring my caramel colored hair to the platinum-ish hue I wanted to return to in just one visit. So I called Space and was able to slip into a same-day appt with Atsuko. Woah. I showed her older pics of how my hair looked and she brought me right back there with a full head of highlights. I was really amazed. I also saw the platinum-blonde color she did for another client and it looked equally amazing, and the client gave her a serious nod of approval after the blow dry, like she was completely blown away. This woman knows her stuff! This is now my new salon in NYC.

I live in Canada, and can make only occasional visits, but Janette and Norman have spoiled me for any other salon. Janette's eye for color is perfect, and Norman's cuts are so precise. You can actually walk into Space with a page torn out of a magazine, request the hair in the photo, and leave looking exactly like that picture. I've done it, and I was amazed.
SPACE SALON IS THE BEST HAIR SALON IN NYC

Every month I look forward to trekking downtown from my Central Park West apt for my highlights, trim at Space. I am always impressed by how attentive, nice and welcoming the staff is, no matter how busy they are. The salon itself is gorgeous. My talented colorist JC highlights are beyond perfect. If you want to find the best hair salon here in the city - here it is.
