I just got back from Spa 88 and i cannot believe you guys would endorse that space! i got there super early i i could steam for my massage but when i made the appointment the guy did not specify that i had to bring a bathing suit. Desperate for my massage and a steam i bought one. i got there and had just enough time to take a shower only there was nothing but cold water... ICE COLD. Then i had to use the ladies room and the toilet was clogged. i went up to my massage which was the worst i have had in my life and considering i am a 41 year old former massage therapist who gets massages at least once a month that is shocking. i took a quick steam and was hungry but although a lunch was supposed to be included in my package i was not at the spa at lunch time so the guy said i could have a juice. other food being served was ridiculously expensive ESPECIALLY when you consider they only got a "B" grade from the NYC department of heath. So me and my juice went to get changed so i could go home as i was PISSED! So im standing naked in the ladies room and realize i am alone in there with a MAN who is trying to fix the toilet!!! i was furious and asked him to leave (i was now wrapped in a towel) and HE WOULD NOT! A woman that worked there took me to one of the massage rooms to finally get dressed!

I would like to bring to your attention further situation. On 88 Fulton street Russian Turkish Bath House, apparently is OK for mother to bring 7 years old boy to womans changing room to wonder into shower cabins, watching woman shaving private areas and etc. I was shocked , uncomfortable and embarrassed when this boy wondered into my shower. When I requested kindly to his mother to take him out of womans locker room she just ignored me at first but than she propose that something is wrong with me and its absolutely normal for 7 years old boy see naked woman around taking care of their private business. When I went to address this issue to management they completely disregard my concern. Maybe Is it Me? Or is it OK to be exposed to naked woman for a boy who is 7th years old? How can be management of 88 Fulton street Bath House be so ignorant of this issue where myself as client experienced absolute embarrassment and disrespect. And I wonder what Child services representative would say about mother who teaching young boy to disrespect woman at such an early age. After I wrote a letter to address this issue and try to give this place another chance. I got no response whatsoever.
A place of wonder

This place is the best bath house in the city. I have been to them all and this takes the crown. The spa, jacuzzi and pool is the reason to come here. I see reviews of people complaining about certain aspects because they are alien to them, but this place is not your main stream spa. You'll love it if you enjoy a hot steam bath, real hot, followed by an ice cold pool. Russians are know for their bath house, its the best, and this place is a Russian bath house catering to American crowd. You'll get high after going to the hot sauna following with a dip in the ice cold pool. You'll feel rejuvenated, 10 years younger. Its the only place that provides this experience. Wealth is health. Come here every friday if you'd like to feel younger. This place is great to detoxify yourself after a nigh out too. Come here if you are concerned with your health.

Probably one of the greatest places in New York to truly relax. Love the food there, the new swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam rooms, etc. And the unique experience of Russian "platza".
